Broncos Players Halloween Costumes
With today being Halloween, let’s have a little fun and look at what the Broncos might dress up as. Tim Tebow as Clark Kent – When will he rip off his proverbial white shirt and tie and save the Broncos franchise? Von Miller as Batman – Miller isn’t Robin to Elvis Dumervil’s Batman. Leading the team in sacks, Miller IS Batman.
Tim Tebow Remains Broncos’ Starting QB
Tim Tebow will in fact remain the Denver Broncos starting quarterback this week as the team prepares for the Oakland Raiders. “He’s a young quarterback, we’re getting to know him better and he’s getting to know the offense, with each one of those snaps,” Fox said. “I think at the end of the day, we have to see if he can improve and get better in the passing game.” – Mike Klis (Denver Post) In a 45-10 loss to the Lions, it would be easy to point fingers at No. 15 for the team’s offensive inaptitude. Going three and out [...]
In ancient Rome, Lions ate many heads in the Coliseum. In present day Denver, the Lions ate the heads of the Broncos. No head was gnawed on as much as Tim Tebow’s. “Can you believe 15? Come on – that’s embarrassing. I mean, it’s a joke. We knew all week that if we brought any kind of defensive pressure, he couldn’t do anything. In the second half it got boring out there. We were like, ‘Come on – that’s your quarterback? Seriously?’” – Unnamed Lions’ defender (Yahoo Sports). It looks like the Lions had a nice full meal and are talking about [...]
Thoughts on the Broncos Sobering Loss to the Lions
Thoughts on the depressing loss to the Detroit Lions (In no particular order): So much to cover here today I’m not sure where to start. How about the turnover battle? The Broncos turned the ball over 3 times yesterday while forcing none. On the season Denver has only 3 interceptions which are more than just 2 other teams in the league. Their turnover margin on the year is -8. Again, only 2 teams in the entire NFL have a worse margin. Obviously, Denver is missing those impact plays that make a difference in the game, and that is largely due to [...]
Broncos’ Offense, Defense Were Missing In Loss To Lions
It doesn’t matter how you spin it. Losing by 30 points at home screams that the Broncos are in trouble. The Detroit Lions put the Broncos away right after halftime when the score was 31-3. There was no good. It was all bad and ugly. “I think we just basically got whipped,” John Fox said. “We got out coached and outplayed. We’ve got a lot of work to do. I think that’s very evident.” The Broncos put up 10 points all day and Tim Tebow converted just 46.2% of his passes. That was the Lions’ game plan. They played a [...]
Broncos Fall To Lions 45-10 As Tebow Struggles
Forget “Tebowing.” There’s a new trend called “Staffording.” Staffording = going 21-of-30 for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Denver Broncos. Matt Stafford has perfected the fad and it went viral on Sunday. The Broncos lost to the Detroit Lions 45-10 in The Night Afternoon of the Living Dead Part II. If you remember correctly, last October we saw the Broncos fall to the Oakland Raiders 59-14. Instead of a 45 point loss, it was a 30 point loss. Same month, same result, different year. The Cardiac Kid, Tim Tebow, tried to put the paddles to the Broncos’ heart. Nothing but flatline [...]
Broncos Profile: Dante Rosario
Each month, I will showcase a current Denver Broncos player and inform you of their lives and accomplishments before coming to Denver. In doing so, I hope to shine a light on each players own unique journey on the road to Mile High. This month’s featured player is tight end Dante Rosario.
Bronco Gameday – Detroit Lions
The 5-2 Detroit Lions make their first visit to Denver since 2003 to face the 2-4 Broncos in a Week 8 inter-conference battle. The Broncos, who won 18-15 in overtime last week, will be wearing orange jerseys for the second time this season as fans get to experience Orange Sunday on Halloween Eve. Obviously another anticipated storyline on this Fall Sunday will be the play of Tim Tebow, as he comes off of a less than stellar performance, albeit a victory, against the Miami Dolphins. Comparing the records of the Dolphins (0-6) and the Lions (5-2), as well as the [...]
Champ Bailey Has Respect For Calvin Johnson’s Skills
Earlier this week we talked about what a threat Lions’ wide receiver Calvin Johnson is on the field. Champ Bailey agrees with our assessment and states that no one can stop Johnson in one-on-one coverage for the duration of the game. “I think one guy could be successful, but it does take a team effort to defend him all day,” Bailey said. “You can’t just match up on him and think it’s going to work all day, if he has a good quarterback throwing the ball. There’s sometimes when he goes up, nobody can get to that height that he [...]
The Detroit Lions may not be able to stop the run, but they sure can stop the pass. They are giving up just 204.6 passing yards per game (9th in the league) which is impressive considering they’ve had to face Tony Romo, Matt Ryan, and Jay Cutler. Against the Dolphins’ 21st ranked pass defense last week, Tim Tebow and the offense couldn’t get points on the board until there were three minutes left in the game. Even then, Tebow finished going 13-of-27 for just 161 yards. That’s a scary statistic when considering who Tebow faces this week. The Lions seem [...]
