Bringin’ A Knife To A Gunfight

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

This post originally appeared at the House of Georges. Predominantly Orange’s Old No. 7 and Arrowhead Addict’s Bankmeister occasionally swap e-mails about the Broncos-Chiefs rivalry and the state of the NFL, and this is the latest installment.
Old No. 7: Tank Johnson was cut by the Bears Monday. He’s a good player, but couple his constant legal troubles with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s take-no-guff policies and Chicago was in an untenable situation. Now let’s assume for a minute that Goodell was going to let Tank play this season, and he’s an available free agent. Let’s say the Chiefs have a [...]

The Dailies: Matriculating toward training camp

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Dailies is a look around Broncoland. It appears semi-daily, and sometimes not at all.
Football fans, I’ve found signs of life. While summer is great and the weather is awesome, these are dark days for those that appreciate the pigskin arts. Every once in a while, though, we find little clues that autumn and the NFL will be upon us before we know it.
I saw the first Broncos schedules at the liquor store the other day when I stopped in for a 12-pack. That was nice. And the fantasy mags will be out in full [...]

The Three Amigos

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos, Video | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Gotta love this old video of The Three Amigos. No, not Chevy Chase, Martin Short and Steve Martin. The other Amigos — ex-Denver Broncos wide receivers Mark Jackson, Ricky Nattiel and Vance Johnson. Whatever happened to crazy videos like this and The Super Bowl Shuffle. Not the highest-quality audio or video, but definitely worth a watch or two.

“Cut That Meat” gets his own site

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: NFL, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: None Yet

We have officially launched our new Indianapolis Colts blog — Naptown’s Finest. Jonathon LaRosa is the lead writer, and he’s doing a fine job of keeping fans updated on the Super Bowl Champs. If you’re still mad at the Colts over that playoff loss a while back, just remember that Peyton Manning has Down Syndrome (milder than his bro’s case, but still), and then you’ll fell better. After that head on over and take a stroll around one of our better lookin’ sites.

The Dailies: Insert some lame ‘The Drive’ reference here

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Because we can’t go a day around here without some news about a quarterback that retired almost a decade ago, head on over to the Rocky for news about John Elway’s latest triumph. I saw the promo commercial for this show and made a mental note to watch it, but, yeah, I didn’t.
Over at the excellent Orange Bucksnorts, Mr. Hercules lays it all down…especially on how difficult it is to cut it as a Bronco blogger this time of year. Seriously, there is nothing going on. Is it too much to ask for someone to get arrested [...]

The Dailies: Holdout heaven in Kansas City

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Welcome back to The Dailies, our look around Broncoland and the NFL. Despite its title, it does not, in fact, appear every day.
This is a one hundred per cent football blog, but Predominantly Orange would like to stand up and applaud the Colorado Rockies for their inspired play of late and their remarkable sweep of the New York Yankees. As much as we all love the Broncos and focus almost exclusively on their season pretty much from this point forward, it would be great for the Rockies and baseball fans in Colorado to see an honest-to-goodness pennant race [...]

The Dailies: Links and more

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Dailies is Predominantly Orange’s look around Broncoland, an assemblage of links and thoughts pertaining to our team. You might think that, judging by its name, it would appear daily, but then you would be wrong.
First off, feel free to take a peek at the House of Georges, where yesterday in the Tradition Tuesday segment I examined the potential of the Broncos’ running game and Travis Henry. We’ll do the same every Tuesday of the year, breaking down some element of the Broncos-Chiefs rivalry.
Speaking of, I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s exchange between me and Arrowhead Addict’s Bankmeister concerning [...]

Big Daddy gets the heave-ho

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

You’d think, based on the available news in Broncoland, that defensive tackle was the only position on the field. In the past few weeks we’ve talked about Sam Adams, Jimmy Kennedy, newly drafted Marcus Thomas, and a slew of holdover rotation guys that will man Denver’s DT spots. Now we receive word that another Bronco target, Dan Wilkinson, has had his contract terminated by the Dolphins.
The Broncos and Dolphins agreed to swap Wilkinson for a sixth-round pick in this year’s Draft on March 2, but Big Daddy never showed for his physical and the trade was voided. [...]

Ifs, Whens, and Other Things We Love That Just Might Kill Us: Elway, Jr.

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos, NFL | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

“Ifs, Whens, and Other Things We Love That Just Might Kill Us” is a new feature on Arrowhead Addict and Predominantly Orange in which Bankmeister and Old No. 7 will exchange e-mails on a particular topic. This week’s subject is Cherry Creek High School quarterback Jack Elway.
Bankmeister: I’d like to say, on behalf of Arrowhead Addict , that we’re thrilled you could take time out of your busy schedule running Predominantly Orange and chat with us. There are a number of topics I’d like to cover with you, and I’m confident I’ll get to at least half of one, and [...]
