You never know what you have until it is gone. That is definitely the case with WR Rod Smith. He was not the fastest, not the flashiest, and not the most talented receiver ever in the NFL…but man was he productive…and clutch! He gets his due with our Clip of the Week!

It was so good to see my team back in action again! I went to Dove Valley this morning to check out our new Broncos. New head coach + new players + new strategy = very excited fans. The first practice on the first day of training camp was a huge success. The practice ran a little over two hours, and when all was said and done many players and coaches stuck around for autographs. New England Patriots Draft just posted a piece comparing NFL teams to amusement park attractions. According to them, the Denver Broncos are the 2009 favorite for the carnival game team. “These teams are pretty fun to watch, whether that be for a certain personality or football reason. With training camp starting on Friday, I have to say that I already smell a little pigskin in the Colorado air. One of the things that I’m most excited for about this season is seeing rookie Knowshon Moreno play. There hasn’t been this much hype about a Georgia running back since, well, since Terrell Davis. One of Moreno’s most memorable plays in college was when he hurdled a Central Michigan defender to gain 29 yards on the play. That  makes the Image of the Week!  

Two Super Bowl titles…back to back…remember? It seems like just yesterday when the Broncos changed from lovable losers to football champions. Hopefully a look back at the great past will inspire the team for the future in our Clip of the Week!

This time last year, Mike Shanahan was busy getting ready for training camp to begin. What a difference a year makes.
