S Brian Dawkins, DT Darrell Reid, and LB Andra Davis are the latest players to step through the door at Dove Valley. Yesterday was mostly offense, and today, mostly defense. Maybe I shouldn’t speak so soon. I can’t keep up with the Broncos right now, and the day isn’t over. They have been one of the most active teams since the free agency period started. Pat Bowlen did the right thing in firing Mike Shanahan. If Shanahan were still here, we wouldn’t have been this active, and we would be watching the Broncos tally another 8-8 season. I love seeing all of these [...]

Dawkins Aboard
What’s with all the Patriots coming to the AFC West? All of a sudden it’s too cold in New England for you? Don’t get me wrong. I welcome Josh McDaniels, Jabar Gaffney, and Lonie Paxton with open arms. But I don’t like the fact that Matt Cassel was just traded to arguably our biggest rival – the Chiefs.
Well, I guess Josh McDaniels will come in quite handy when we face Kansas City. McDaniels groomed Cassel into a great QB last year as the Pats’ offensive coordinator. Will he have what it takes to get inside the young QB’s mind when the Broncos and Chiefs face [...]

Broncos Ink Gaffney
It’s a done deal. The Broncos signed Jabar Gaffney to a 4-year, $10 million deal today. They also signed backs Correll Buckhalter and J.J. Arrington, and longsnapper Lonie Paxton.
They could also sign safeties Brian Dawkins (Eagles) and Renaldo Hill (Dolphins). Adding either guy would dramatically improve the defense. Dawkins may be on the older scale, but he still brings hard hits, and a leadership role. Hill made big plays last year for the Dolphins as that team turned around their defense.
We are going to be seeing a very different Broncos lineup next year, and I think it’ll be one that could easily clinch [...]
Tom Brady Who?
Who cares if Tom Brady got married last night? I don’t! I care more about the possibility of Jabar Gaffney reuniting with Josh McDaniels in Denver. Gaffney will meet with the Broncos today. Imagine (Insert clouds and xylophones) Gaffney lined up with Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, and Jay Cutler. I see a New England Patriots offense developing west of the Mississippi.
Other players that have caught the Broncos eye are backs J.J. Arrington and Correll Buckhalter. They too will be visiting Dove Valley today.
Stayed tuned for more updates. This is an exciting time in Broncos Country!

Between now and midnight Friday, some players will resign and be removed from this list, and some will be released and added to this list. But as of Thursday afternoon, here is a look at some of the top players — restricted free agents and franchise players are not included — heading into free agency.
QUARTERBACKS
Kurt Warner, Cardinals — Just a question of Warner and Cardinals finalizing a deal.
Kerry Collins, Titans — No team can offer the full package that Tennessee can.
Jeff Garcia, [...]
A Few Broncos Links
- With free agency starting tonight, here are some possibilities for the Broncos.
- The 50 year anniversary of the Broncos is approaching. VP of Public Relations, Jim Saccomano wrote about some interesting characters that put on a Broncos jersey in the last 50 years in his blog.
- Bill Belichick gave his thoughts on the high number of coaching changes this year.
- There are a lot of Broncos who will hit the free agency market, and most will not return as Broncos.
- I wonder if Josh McDaniels will try to pry any Patriots free agents away from Belichick. Here’s a list [...]

What It Takes To Run The 40
To follow up on the last post, I just saw this video of NFL Network commentator, Rich Eisen, running the 40 yard dash at the Combine. They actually compare Eisen’s speed to that of B.J. Raji (who I hope the Broncos will select). Raji had one of the slowest times in the 40. Take a look:
