The Denver Broncos have had quite the start to the 2026 NFL Season. After a blowout loss in Week 1, the team played cleaner, more efficient football and held the fort down at home, defeating the juggernaut Jacksonville Jaguars.

Denver is now 1-1 for the second season in a row and still have some tough games coming up. Hosting the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football is no easy task, and while the Broncos have largely been one of the healthiest teams in the league since Sean Payton took over, that doesn't mean injuries don't happen.

The running back room is oddly already banged up, as all three primary players in J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, and Jonah Coleman are dealing with issues. But during Wednesday media availability following practice, Payton seemed to calm those concerns with a few words.

Denver Broncos' HC Sean Payton says the team will be "alright" and "good" at the position

It doesn't appear that the trio of backs are dealing with anything more than minor injuries. Payton himself said the team will be good at the position:

And while Coleman did not practice, he also finished the game for the Broncos, as both Harvey and Dobbins were out, but the latter two practiced in limited fashion on Wednesday:

9News' Mike Klis also seemed to indicate that Dobbins and Harvey could be back for Sunday Night Football:

"By 'good' and 'all right,' Payton could mean losing Coleman for a single game would be no great shakes because it appears Dobbins, who was first announced to have suffered a hamstring injury then altered to a hip, and the hamstrung Harvey will be ready to go this week, as well as No. 4 running back Tyler Badie". -- Mike Klis

On the surface, having your three primary running backs on the injury report is rather brutal, but things appear to be in a good spot. We all know the story with the three. Dobbins is as efficient a runner as you'll see in the NFL but struggles to stay healthy. Harvey is explosve with high-end receiving traits, and Coleman appears to be in the middle of those two with a sturdy build and strong vision.

In an ideal world, all three suit up for SNF and are able to split the carries to keep their legs fresh and to wear down the Rams defense. What we saw in Week 2 should be similar to what we see in Week 3 - an obvious emphasis on establishing the run to extend drives and take time off the clock.

That also opens up the pass, where we saw Bo Nix and Jaylen Waddle find a strong connection. Denver should be good at the RB position for SNF.
