Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has thrown for 54 touchdown passes in his first two seasons. Add to that his nine rushing TDs and one receiving TD, and you have a QB who has accounted for 64 total TDs over his first two seasons.
His 64 total TDs in his first 32 career starts are 9th best all-time - all of the other names on the list are recognizable, with two of them in the Hall of Fame.

Nix has a passing TD-to-interception ratio of 2.35 to 1. That is 23rd among quarterbacks over the last 10 NFL seasons (min 30 passing TDs). Aaron Rodgers, whose best years are long behind him, has the best ratio at 4.66. From the QB class of 2024, like Nix, Caleb Williams is third at 3.62. He has thrown 47 TD passes and only 13 interceptions in his NFL career; were he to maintain that, it would be Hall of Fame worthy. Rodgers will make the Hall after he retires. Drew Brees was just inducted. Tom Brady will be as soon as he is eligible.

With a number of current QBs who are still in their primes -- Williams, Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, Jordan Love, Matthew Stafford -- still above him on the list, Nix can definitely improve upon his 2.35 TD-to-INT ratio. Drake Maye, also a member of the QB class of 2024, is above Nix with a ratio of 2.56. Even journeyman QB Jacoby "limp" Brissett has a ratio for his career that it is better at 2.38. Brissett has actually been in the league since 2016 (the last 10 NFL seasons).
If Nix throws for 40 TDs this season, which is not out of the realm of possibility, and 10 interceptions, that will move his career ratio to 2.85. That would put him in the top 10. Remember that he threw 29 TDs and 12 interceptions as a rookie. A large jump in his third season as a starter is not uncommon.
Andrew Luck went from 23/9 to 40/16 in his 3rd season as a starter. Patrick Mahomes went from 26/5 to 38/6 in his third season. Matthew Stafford had 41/16 in his 3rd season. So even if Nix has a few more interceptions -- let's say 15 -- his ratio would go up to 2.47.
Of course, there was only one QB who threw for more than 40 TDs last season, MVP Matthew Stafford, so for Nix to jump to 40 passing TDs might be too big of an ask. There were three QBs who threw 40 or more passing TDs in 2024 while there were zero in 2023 and only one in 2022 (Mahomes).
Maybe 36 is a more realistic goal for Nix in 2026. So if he does 36/12 in 2026, his ratio will go up to 2.57, which is almost exactly Drake Maye's career ratio. Is Bo Nix as good as Drake Maye? As a Bronco fan, I would argue that he is better, but we shall see in 2026. Maye was absolutely atrocious in the playoffs last season, and he had a laughably easy schedule in terms of defenses he faced in the regular season.
