The Denver Broncos are slated to play what could be their toughest regular season game in the Sean Payton era in Week 3, as the host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.
The Rams roster is littered with high-end players, and the household names like Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, and Aaron Donald will dominate the headlines leading up to this showdown.
However, that doesn't mean the Rams don't have some other, perhaps under-the-radar players that need attention. The Broncos cannot overlook these three in particular.
Denver Broncos will have to keep an eye out for a handful of underrated Rams players
Terrance Ferguson, TE
After not catching a pass in Week 1, second-year tight end Terrance Ferguson had a mini-breakout game, hauling in six passes for 54 yards and one touchdown. With Puka Nacua not likely suiting up for this game, the Rams figure to continue to get their tight ends more involved in the passing game, and with Patrick Surtain II like following Adams all evening, the tight ends become even more important to the Rams aerial attack.
This is where Ferguson could continue to see some work. Ferguson and Bo Nix were actually teammates back at Oregon, but that isn't important here - just a note to make.
The Rams also love the heavier personnel packages, running 12 and 13 personnel frequently, which means they have one running back and two tight ends on the field, or one running back and three tight ends on the field.
Ferguson had nine targets in Week 2. He'll again be looking at another heavy workload in Week 3. Denver can't overlook his potential impact.
Blake Corum, RB
Since the start of the 2025 season, Blake Corum has run for 879 yards in 19 games. He's averaged a hysterically efficient 5.3 yards per carry and a 60.5 percent success rate.
Los Angeles has an awesome run game, as they've already hit 285 yards on the ground. With Kyren Williams being the de-facto starter and highly-paid runner in the room, he's someone who you'd think of first.
But Corum does have more yards, a higher success rate, and more yards per attempt through two weeks. Corum has 22 carries, and Williams has 23.
This is a truly split RB room, and it's going to continue in Week 3. The Broncos need to ensure Corum gets contained, as while he's technically the backup, that doesn't mean he can't play well.
Quentin Lake, DB
Quentin Lake is another really slick player for the Rams who isn't a household name. Lake only played in 10 games last year, but he still finished with 10 passes defended and 61 total tackles.
He leads the NFL already with six passes defended. Lake has also added 17 total tackles, and since the start of 2024, according to Pro Football Reference, he's only allowed a 71.9 passer rating when in coverage.
Lake is a do-it-all defensive back, and while the focus could continue to be on the remade cornerback room with Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, Lake is absolutely a player and someone the offense has to look out for.
