Tony Dorsett, Running back

Many people forget that Tony Dorsett finished his career with the Broncos, but that is where he spent the 1988 season after 11 amazing years with the Dallas Cowboys.

Considered one of the best running backs to ever play, Dorsett was another guy who was well past his prime once he got to Denver.

The Broncos traded a fifth-round pick to acquire Dorsett and it was a move then head coach Dan Reeves was excited about. Though Dorsett still led the team with 703 yards rushing, he wasn’t the Dallas Dorsett.

He averaged just 3.9 yards per carry and his longest run of the season went for just 26 yards. It sure would have been nice if the Broncos could have gotten him three or four years earlier.

Still, it was fun to see Dorsett in orange and blue. At the time, he was one of the most respected players in the entire league and while wearing a Broncos jersey, he moved into second place on the NFL’s all-time rushing list, behind only Walter Payton.

To this day, Dorsett, who hasn’t played in 22 seasons, still sits at No. 10 on the all-time list with 12,739 yards.
