Will A.J. Bouye’s suspension force him out of Denver?

A.J. Bouye was traded to the Denver Broncos from the Jacksonville Jaguars last year for a cheap price.

In 2021, Bouye will get $11,470,588 in base salary, but cutting him would cost the Broncos nothing in terms of dead money.

It is possible that the team won’t want to bring Bouye, especially with that base salary.

If the Broncos do truly move on from Bouye this offseason, it would create a big hole at the position and would make cornerback a strong candidate for the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

There are some very talented cornerbacks in this year’s draft, and that fact makes me think that moving on from Bouye would not be a horrible decision.

It is also important to realize that cutting Bouye in 2021 would create $13,375,000 in cap space, something they could use somewhere else.

Despite the hype following the trade that sent him to Denver, Bouye didn’t necessarily blow the minds of people. That being said, it is not like Bouye is a bad player. Like others in Vic Fangio’s system, it might just be that he could use another year in Denver.

But for the reasons I mentioned above, moving on from Bouye could make sense for the team.
