Running Back Phillip Lindsay

Phillip Lindsay has been nothing short of incredible for the Broncos since they found him as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado. Yes, Colorado.

He had over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first two seasons in the league and has definitely earned a big role in the team’s offense. While Lindsay missed time with a concussion this year, it should not be a reason to stop giving him the ball over Melvin Gordon.

Gordon has fumbled twice this year and has been a known fumbler during his time in the league thus far. Lindsay, on the other hand, has not fumbled one time in his two years in the league.

The young, new offense that the Broncos have going hasn’t featured Lindsay enough (82 total rushes; surpassing 10 carries just twice). I expect that to change.

Many people followed Lindsay while he was in college at Colorado. They were extremely happy when he signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent back in 2018. He has not disappointed.

Hopefully, he and Pat Shurmur can work together to figure out ways to get him the ball more.
