Mark Barron, LB

When the Denver Broncos added Mark Barron to the defense, many fans in Broncos Country were nervous about his history in coverage.

While Barron was a safety in college and was drafted in the top 10 picks once upon a time, he was let go by the Pittsburgh Steelers this past offseason and was unsigned heading into 2020 training camp.

A hamstring injury has prevented Barron from playing at all so far in 2020, and after being signed for two years, $2.5 million, the Broncos might see what they can get out of Barron the rest of 2020 and say their goodbyes after this year.

Josey Jewell has developed tremendously in 2020 while the Broncos had high hopes for Justin Strnad before he was lost to a season-ending injury.

With Strnad presumably returning in 2020 and the development of Jewell/Alexander Johnson, the need for Barron to come back simply isn’t there at this point.
