Denver Broncos: The answers to 7 great trivia questions
Most receptions in a game
This is one of those records that is not just a team record, but also a league record.
In a game against the Indianapolis Colts on December 13, 2009, Brandon Marshall caught everything thrown his way. He finished the game with 21 receptions, erasing the mark of 20 that Terrell Owens set about nine years earlier.
On top of that, the No. 3 best effort in league history is also held by Marshall, which was an 18-catch game in 2008.
In the game against the Colts, Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton only completed 29 passes, with 21 of those going to Marshall. He finished the game with 200 yards receiving and two touchdowns as well.
Unfortunately, the Broncos were still defeated by the undefeated Colts, losing 28-16. Still, it is an impressive mark by Marshall that will take quite the effort to top. There are players who don’t even have 21 catches in a career.
This would end up being one of the last games Marshall would ever play for the Broncos. The following offseason, he was traded to the Miami Dolphins.
