Teammates were praising new nose tackle Tyrique Jarrett early on in OTAs, even giving him the nickname ‘Pot Roast Jr.’ after former Denver Broncos defensive lineman Terrance Knighton.

Like Knighton, Jarrett is a mountain of a young man and a load in the middle of a defense. Also, at 6-foot-3, nearly 345-350 pounds, Jarrett is also probably faster than you:

In some of the Pitt games I watched to study Jarrett and fellow Broncos UDFA Shakir Soto, he wasn’t on the field on a full-time basis. That’s not a surprise, as teams don’t often use traditional 0-technique defensive linemen on all three downs.

As a two-down run specialist, however, Jarrett has a lot of value. Especially with:

1. Domata Peko’s age, and;

2. Kyle Peko’s recent foot injury.

Because of those two factors listed above, I could see Jarrett being given serious consideration for the 53-man roster. This is a player the Broncos likely would have drafted had they not had such strong meetings with him prior to the draft, getting to know him and likely arranging his signing late on day three.

Jarrett was one of the top UDFA signings league-wide in my opinion, and if he continues to impress, he will lock down a roster spot without question.
