Elvis Dumervil

As of yesterday, Elvis Dumervil was slated to work out for the 49ers. While no news has dropped that he has signed with them, he may be a candidate to reach out to if in fact he doesn’t sign with San Francisco.

Bringing back Dumervil would provide a familiar reunion with Von Miller. The NFL’s once most feared pass rushing duo would be back in action.

In the off season we spoke about bringing Dumervil back into the mix, but the consensus amongst Broncos Country wanted to focus on the young developing studs in Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett out.

In a time where Shaq is out and the guys behind him lack experience, it almost makes perfect sense for Dumervil to make his return to Denver.

Closing Thoughts: Shaq Barrett’s Impact

Shaq Barrett has been one of the NFL’s most underrated backup pass rushers. He has proven time and time again he can make plays against the best and compete. With Shaq being out during training camp, he will miss pivotal reps to stay a step ahead.

However, there is a blessing in disguise with the opportunity the young guys on the roster have with competing for a spot on the Broncos 53 man roster. It’s unlikely Barrett will play during pre-season but is anticipated to be ready for Week 1.

What are your thoughts Broncos Country on the potential candidates that could step up to play the role Shaq did for the Broncos?
