Thursday, Sep. 15th-

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills:

Rex Ryan loves playing his former team, as this will be a rematch of the 2015 season finale where Ryan’s Bills kept the Jets out of the playoffs.  However, on this Thursday night, Ryan Fitzpatrick will not throw any INT’s, and the Jets will come from behind on the last drive of the game, and win on a field goal.

The Pick:  Jets 26  Bills 24

Sunday, Sep. 18th-

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers:

This playoff rematch will not feature that of Vontaze Burfict, but will have Andy Dalton this time around.  Regardless of who’s playing, the intensity of the game will be just as high as always when these two teams match up.  The result of the game will be the same as the Steelers will prove to be just to much for the Bengals.

The Pick:  Steelers 20  Bengals 13

Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions:

The Lions make their home debut and come out slinging the ball all over the field.  Stafford will throws 3 first half TD’s, two to Golden Tate.  The Titans 4th quarter rally comes up just short, as Mariota is intercepted in the end zone in the final minutes.

The Pick:  Lions 28  Titans 21

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns:

The Ravens had a strong showing in week one, and come out even stronger this week.  The Browns prove to be no match for the Ravens as Elvis Dumervil and Darth Suggs each register two sacks a piece, as McCown is forced to enter the game in the 4th quarter as RGIII is concussed.

The Pick:  Ravens 24  Browns 10

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins:

Captain Kirk comes to play on this Sunday, as the Redskins look to prove to the Cowboys that their division title was no fluke.  Cousins throws for two Jordan Reed TD’s in the first half.  The Cowboys do storm back from 17 down to tie the game, but Desean Jackson gets behind the defense on the very next play for a 75 yard TD, and Josh Norman picks off Dak Prescott to seal the W for the Skins.

The Pick:  Redskins 31  Cowboys 24

New Orleans Saints at New York Giants:

Odell Beckham Jr. awakens for the year on this day and puts on a show for the home crowd.  Oliver Vernon also delivers a nice debut for the Big Blue, providing his first two sacks of his Giants career.  This is a back and fourth game, with each QB throwing 4 TD’s, but ultimately the Saints cannot keep pace.

The Pick:  Giants 42  Saints 31

San Francisco 49ers at Carolina Panthers:

This matchup doesn’t even seem fair from the start.  As bad as the 49ers were in week one, they are even worse in week two.  They fail to score a point until late in the fourth quarter when Blaine Gabbert is replaced by Colin Kaepernick, and Kap leads a late TD drive against the Panther backups.  The Panthers finally get their offense rolling since for the first time in 9 months and 3 games, they aren’t going up against the Broncos vaunted defense.

The Pick:  Panthers 49  49ers 7

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots:

The season opener in Foxborough, like the first game, doesn’t go as planned for the Patriots.  Ryan Tannehill manages to find a very nice groove, something that brings a smile to the face of head coach Adam Gase.  The biggest difference maker in this game, however, is Arian Foster.  The former Texan breaks two big ones, and finishes the game with 118 yards rushing and two TD’s.

The Pick:  Dolphins 27  Patriots 20

Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans:

The Texans bring a new QB to the table in the playoff rematch, but the result is much the same.  Brock Osweiler is sacked 5 times, and throws for 3 INT’s, and the Texans, for the third time in two seasons get destroyed by the Chiefs.

The Pick:  Chiefs 34  Texans 12

Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams:

Perhaps the Rams wish they had moved to Northern California, as their debut in SoCal is not as nice as the week before up north.  Then again, they are playing the Seahawks who seem to be on a mission to recapture the magic of 2013, as the Seahawks lay down a beating on the Rams.

The Pick:  Seahawks 31  Rams 6

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arizona Cardinals:

The Bucs have made real strides this year, and it proves with their performance against the defending NFC West champions.  Winston has his team in position to steal a road victory, but the Cardinals are a very good team, and a late David Johnson TD proves to be the difference.  Nonetheless, the Bucs are a very improved football team, and it shows.

The Pick:  Cardinals 23  Buccaneers 20

Jacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers:

This game is all about defense, the Jaguars that is.  Redshirt rookie Dante Fowler Jr. shows why the Jags picked him so high a season ago, as he gets to Rivers twice for sacks, and 3 other times for QB hits.  Malik Jackson shows up as well as he registers 3 batted balls, and Myles Jack is all over the field trying to prove all the teams that passed on him in the draft to be dead wrong.

The Pick:  Jaguars 20  Chargers 10

Atlanta Falcons at Oakland Raiders:

What happened to this Raiders team that won the offseason?  So far, all the great moves on paper still seem to be frugal, as Matt Ryan puts on an absolute clinic, connecting for three Julio Jones TD’s.  This is not the type of start the Raiders expected, as some fans have already begun to call for Jack Del Rio’s head.

The Pick:  Falcons 35  Raiders 26

Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos:

Andrew Luck has proved to be a real thorn in the side for the Broncos over the years, but not on this day.  The Broncos defense turned in their worst performance of the year last season in Indianapolis, and they still don’t forget the playoff loss from a few years back.  Luck is battered all day, as Von Miller gets to luck for 3 sacks, and Shane Ray, Shaq Barrett, and Demarcus Ware each get there once as well.  Trevor Siemian’s day doesn’t go too well, as he does register a TD pass to Demaryius Thomas, but also throws 2 INT’s and loses a fumble as well.  In the end, the defense, much as it did a year ago, saves the day on a late pick by Bradley Roby to end the game.

The Pick:  Broncos 17  Colts 12

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings:

The Vikings road to repeat as division champions takes an early hit, as Aaron Rodgers appears to be on a mission to return to the Super Bowl.  Newcomer Jared Cook gets his name in the hat, as he catches two scores, and Jordy Nelson is the recipient of a third Rodgers TD pass.  Clay Matthews trolls Sam Bradford, who is making his first start for the Vikings, all day, putting him on his back multiple times, and the Vikings leave the building with an embarrassing L.

The Pick:  Packers 38  Vikings 10

Monday, Sep. 19th-

Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears:

The Bears finally find a semblance of offense on this day as Cutler hooks up with Kevin White for his first NFL score on the opening drive of the game.  Alshon Jeffrey gets into the mix in the fourth quarter, trying to earn his new long term contract, and on this day the Bears get the best of the Eagles.

The Pick:  Bears 26  Eagles 17
