It is one thing to play well on defense against Trevor Siemian, Mark Sanchez and Paxton Lynch in practice. Proving it against another NFL team is another thing. Broncos defense showed up in the scrimmage picking off Blaine Gabbert and Christian Ponder in practice. Todd Davis, Kayvon Webster and Lorenzo Doss all intercepted a pass today in camp.

Chris Harris said yesterday in his press conference, the Broncos defense has the makings to be better than last year because of the improved depth in the secondary. Darius Kilgo thinks the same thing after his interview today with 104.3 The Fan. The defense continues to be confident in how their play affects games and should resume this season. Broncos defense will always have their doubters, which will only fuel them even more. That is fine. May I remind those who doubted the Broncos defense were proved wrong in the season and look how it all unfolded? The Broncos won the Super Bowl with historic play from the defense.

Emergence of Doss, Zaire Anderson and Kyle Peko in Training Camp proves the amount of endless riches the Broncos have on their defense. Certainly the quarterback play will have to be different this year, but the one constant on this team is the ridiculous pass rush depth, secondary help everywhere and now better safeties to man the back side to sub TJ Ward and Darian Stewart.

Memo to opposing quarterbacks: Please challenge our secondary. That is if they can get a pass off with the gold mine of pass rushers at the Broncos disposal.
