The Broncos were likely planning on big things for Heuerman, who could have developed into the #3 tight end sooner rather than later, but the ACL injury at the initial rookie camp hindered any plans they might have had.

Instead, he will now rehab and get ready for a prime role in 2016, when it’s entirely possible he will be taking over for Owen Daniels and pairing with Virgil Green in the Broncos’ 2TE formations.

This season, Gary Kubiak has hinted that Heuerman will be involved in helping coach the tight end position, which is a really cool tactic that I’ve never heard before.
