We’re getting closer and closer to the NFL draft and the Broncos have been meeting with different prospects. On Thursday, it was reported they met with Michigan State running back Jeremy Langford.

Among others, the Broncos also talked with Minnesota running back David Cobb.

Cobb seems to be a name of interest for the Broncos, as their brass talked with him at the Senior Bowl.

(Side note: Devin Smith wouldn’t be a pick for need, but if the Broncos drafted him… I’d be the opposite of mad.)

With who they’ve brought in, it looks as if the Broncos are interested in drafting a running back somewhere in this draft. I don’t necessarily think they need to, but I really like a lot of the players in this group, so I don’t blame them.

With Juwan Thompson possibly making the move to fullback and Montee Ball coming off a horrific, injury-shortened season, it might be a good idea for them to look for some insurance. That said, there’s little doubt in my mind C.J. Anderson along with Ronnie Hillman is an excellent tandem.

Let’s take a look at David Cobb and what he could bring to the blue and orange if that’s how the chips fall come late April/early May.
