5 Reasons Broncos Were Right to Cut Matt Prater

Some in Broncos Country were shocked. 

Some were angered and don’t understand. 

Others weren’t and saw the logic. 

Of course we’re talking about John Elway and the Denver Broncos cutting ties with kicker Matt Prater. 

The fans who say this will come back to haunt the Broncos haven’t been paying attention. Prater hasn’t been right since last December. 

He’s been out of shape. He hasn’t been reliable. And he cost $4 million against Denver’s cap. That doesn’t include the off-the-field issues he has. Prater is one screw up away from being suspended a year because of repeated violations of the league’s substance abuse policy. The NFL actually wanted to suspend him a year for his latest transgression with alcohol. 

Here are five reasons why Elway and the Broncos made the right call.
