Not much news comes out of the NFL office nowadays, but the league did release its tentative draft order. The Broncos have the following picks: Round 1, Pick 2 (2) Round 2, Pick 4 (36) Round 2, Pick 14 (46) (from Miami) Round 3, Pick 3 (67) Round 6, Pick 21 (186) (from Philadelphia through Detroit) Round 6, Pick 24 (189) (from New Orleans through New England) Round 7, Pick 46 (247) (compensatory selection) Fans can get even closer to the Broncos’ draft process this year because the team has a “war room” camera via the NFL Network. March Madness: The NFL Version
It’s that time of year in sports when impossible buzzer-beater shots are taken, small school underdogs defeat major college powerhouses, and well thought out and meticulously made brackets are busted. The NCAA basketball championship, more commonly referred to as “March Madness”, is a tournament held every year to crown the nations top college basketball team. But as the month of March winds down, there has been another form of madness that has stolen the sports headlines usually reserved for the annual contest. The ongoing NFL labor arguments over a new collective bargaining agreement has taken an ugly turn for the worse. [...]
Broncos Classic: 1998 Seattle at Denver
On December 27th, 1998, the Denver Broncos didn’t have much to play for during their regular season finale. They had clinched home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs several weeks earlier when their record reached 13-0 after an epic victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. But when the Seattle Seahawks arrived at Mile High Stadium on that cold December afternoon, there was an electricity in the air. This game wouldn’t affect the playoff picture at all, but it could rewrite the history books when all was said and done, and everyone associated with the game knew it. It was somewhat important to the Broncos in that they [...]
Broncos Kicking Game Not Suffering
With the new ruling that kickoffs will be moved to the 35-yard line, I thought this would be an ideal time to look at the Broncos’ kicking game. We all know that the thin Mile High air allows the football to travel greater distances, and last season alone, kicker Matt Prater booted nearly all of his kickoffs into the endzone or beyond. Don’t expect to see many returned kickoffs in Denver this year. When Jason Elam left Denver for Atlanta and then for retirement, heads lowered and we were sad to see him go. His leg was money and it won the Broncos many games in the [...]
Current State Of The NFL
New Orleans is hopping nowadays. It’s not the Bourbon Street festivities that I’m talking about. The city is the site of the NFL’s annual meeting. Just yesterday, Roger Goodell addressed the media to discuss what the NFL will do next regarding the CBA process. Included in his five minute Q&A session, he said, “We are certainly planning on having a full season. That’s our objective, and we’re going to work as hard as we can to make that become a reality…Litigation isn’t going to solve this problem. It’s clearly going to be solved through negotiations. The faster we can get back to mediation, the faster [...]

Tim Tebow In The Running For Madden ’12 Cover
With March Madness upon us, EA Sports seems to have caught bracket fever. The gaming company has put together a fully seeded 32-player bracket, the likes of which the NCAA Tournament Committee would be proud of. The EA Sports bracket will be used to determine who will be on the cover of Madden ’12. Each team has a representative, and fans will be able to vote to decide who will go on to Madden cover glory. The Denver Broncos will be represented by Tim Tebow.
NFL Commish and Players Putting Pen To Paper
This isn’t just grade school kids passing notes around. This is a group of billionaires and millionaires trying to split up a $9 billion pie. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent out a letter to all players on Thursday detailing the terms of the lockout. Included in this letter are rules that forbid players from interacting with coaches and other team personnel until a new CBA is reached. The players fired back today with a letter of their own calling out the owners for making false statements.
