The Denver Broncos have a 10+ hour flight back from London, but it may as well be a 14-day flight. That’s how long the Broncos will have to sit with this loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The chants came early and often. It was nails to the chalkboard for my ears. “Te-bow, Te-bow, Te-bow!” Are you kidding me? As soon as the Denver Broncos fell behind 21-0 just six minutes into the game, the crowd around me cleared their throats and bellowed for #15 to come into the game. There’s still one week before Halloween, but we already witnessed a scene from a horror movie. Under a gray sky, the dark faces came out ready to shed some Bronco blood. Raider Nation went from 0 to almost 60 in an afternoon of football. The Denver Broncos finally start division play on Sunday. They host the Oakland Raiders (2-4) in what is usually a very physical and competitive game. The Raiders have won their last two at Invesco Field, but have yet to win an away game this season. They did beat the Chargers in a thrilling game, but like the Broncos, they’ve had their ups and downs. With the same record as the Broncos and the Chargers, things in the AFC West should open up a bit. The road to Dallas goes through the sewer. All NFL teams and divisions will fall into a rut at some point. The season is too long and grueling for that not to occur.
