Broncos V. Dolphins Preview

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

I hope the Broncos got enough R&R to finish the rest of the season on a strong note. Thankfully, the Fat Lady has not sung her tune yet, but she sure was warming up during that Monday night game in New England. This week, the Dolphins cruise on up to Denver to try to become the second Florida team to beat the Broncos this season. A 2-1 record against Florida teams would be a thin layer of frosting on this dinged up Broncos cake. The Broncos cannot take the Dolphins lightly. That can of tuna that stunk up South Beach last season is a thing of the past. The [...]

The Train Is Coming

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos, Video | COMMENTS: None Yet

Because it looks like rookie running back Ryan Torain is making his NFL debut against the Dolphins, I am providing you with this clip. Torain sustained an elbow injury in training camp that required surgery. He was drafted in the 5th round out of Arizona State, and Mike Shanahan has compared him to Terrell Davis when he first entered the league. Enjoy!

The Broncos Do Halloween

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: None Yet

I am going to do the Broncos a favor and give them some ideas for Halloween costumes:
Jay Cutler as Philip Rivers – This one is easy. Carry around a blanket and a pacifier. Sprinkle some tear drops in your eyes, and talk about the Chargers Super Bowl dreams.
Tony Scheffler as a Sunburned Tourist – He’s been on vacation for way too long. Ok, I know he was hurt, but he’s had plenty of time off. Wear a Hawaiian shirt, bermuda shorts, and put a camera around your neck. Use makeup to make your face red.
Brandon Marshall as a Wheaties box – He’s [...]

The AFC West Is The Laughing-Stock

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

With the Broncos having the week off, Adam over at Arrowhead Addict did the AFC West Breakdown this week. I’ll resume my duties in week 9. As for what Adam had to say about the Broncos:
“Looking Back: The Broncos bye week fell at the perfect time, because they were banged up as hell. Brandon, Marshall, Jay Cutler, Selvin Young, Tony Scheffler and others benefited from the off week. The Broncos also needed a week to regather that offensive magic and completely start from scratch defensively. The good news is that they remain in first place.

Looking Forward: The Broncos draw a schizo Miami [...]

Broncos Go Back To Work

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

When I think of the Broncos returning to action, I cannot help but think of that scene from Billy Madison where Billy is waiting for the bus. He sings, “Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I’m not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don’t get in a fight. Ohhhh, back to school. Back to school. Back to school. Well, here goes nothing.”
The Broncos are going back to work. Back to work, to prove to the league that they are not jokes. They’ve got their wounds healed [...]

Broncos Off But Life Goes On

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Gameday, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

My Cutler jersey is still laying on the floor of my studio. I threw it down in frustration on Monday night and have not been able to bring myself to pick it up. It’s collecting dust this week, but don’t worry, it’ll be off the ground in time for the game against Miami. Life in the NFL goes on and I’m actually looking forward to this weekend. I can joyfully root against the Chargers, Raiders, and Chiefs and I don’t have to worry about my team losing.
Here are my picks for the week:
Oakland at Baltimore - Baltimore
Arizona at Carolina – Carolina
Tampa [...]

Broncos Political Contributions

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

Jeanne over at Black & Teal combined her two loves of football and politics to do an analysis of NFL teams and their favorite politicians. She broke down the amount of money that each team donated to the Republican and Democratic campaigns. Here’s a look what the Broncos did:
“This one is another team that interested me because Denver is where the Democrats held their convention. It seems like it worked. Tight end Nate Jackson donated 500 to Barack Obama, fullback Kyle Johnson donated 500 to Barack Obama and former wide receiver Rod Smith donated 500 to Barack Obama. Not to [...]

NFL And Grey’s Anatomy Do Mix

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: NFL, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

This post is probably more interesting to the female readers. However, you guys may want to take note if your girlfriend/wife watches Grey’s Anatomy. If you can’t stand that she has to sit down every Thursday night to watch the show while you want to go out or flip the channel to ESPN for a little college football, then I’m here to save you. Here’s how you can compare the characters of Grey’s to the cast of characters in the NFL:

Tony Romo as Derek Shepherd (a.k.a McDreamy): Every guy wants to be him while every girl wants to see him with less clothes [...]

Broncos’ Training Room To Be At Full Capacity

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The bye really came at the perfect time. The Broncos don’t have any kind of momentum to carry into the next game, so a week off may actually improve their performance two weeks from now. I wonder if there are Broncos’ body parts going up for sell on Ebay. Injuries and replacements will be the topic of discussion for the Broncos during the bye. Boss Bailey (knee) and backup QB Patrick Ramsey (elbow) are out for the season. Champ Bailey is out 4-6 weeks with a torn groin, and Tony Scheffler’s status agasint the Dolphins is unknown.
Other battered players from the bunch include Selvin Young, [...]

Razor Burned at Gillette

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

When I think of New England, images of public humiliation come to mind. Images of Colonial America placing a criminal in the center of a small New England town and having the local population enact a form of mob justice on the individual. Some individuals were sentenced to remain exposed in a restraining devise while being physically and emotionally abused by the crowd.
That’s what happened to the Denver Broncos last night and the crowd just happened to the entire nation. The Broncos were beaten, battered, and humiliated in a New England town and they now sport a Scarlet MC on their chest.
Matt Cassel simply showed the [...]
