The Word Association Game: Just Blog Baby

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos, Video | COMMENTS: None Yet

In preparation for Sunday’s game against Oakland, we wanted to play a little word association game with Chris from Just Blog Baby. Here are his responses:
1. Mike Shanahan -The Enemy
PO: If he keeps kicking to players like Devin Hester, he will be the city of Denver’s worst enemy.
2. Jay Cutler – Above average
PO: For a guy replacing Plummer, he’s way above average.
3. Raider Nation – Worldwide
PO: No one admits to being a Raiders fan these days unless they live in Cali.
4. Jamarcus Russell – Unproven
PO: He would have had more success had he stayed at LSU this year.
5. Warren Sapp [...]

The Broncos Mourn the Death of Sean Taylor

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

Star safety for the Washington Redskins, Sean Taylor, passed away today as a result of a gunshot wound. Taylor was shot in his Miami home by an intruder on Monday, and remained in critical condition in a Florida hospital. For more details about the shooting, go to Yahoo Sports.
Former Bronco RB, Clinton Portis, had the difficult task of delivering the news to his current Redskins teammates (Rocky Mountain News).
Broncos players, Nate Webster, D.J. Williams, and Chris Myers played with Taylor at the University of Miami.
“It’s just the worst,” Myers said. “It just shows you how that no one is safe once again.”
The Broncos dealt with the shooting death of their teammate, [...]

Special Teams Induced Vomiting: Broncos Fall to Bears

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

How do the Broncos lose a game after being up 34-20 in the 4th quarter? They allow the struggling Chicago Bears to score 17 unanswered points in the last 8 minutes of the game, and Devin Hester to return two 2nd half kicks for TDs.
Notes:
Javon Walker played for the first time since September 21st.
Jay Cutler played well racking up 302 yards and 2 TDs.
With a San Diego win today, the Broncos fall behind the Chargers by one game in the race to win the AFC West. (That race is really like a one legged race run by blind people).
Cornerback, Dre Bly’ had the fourth sack of [...]

Thanksgiving: Broncos Style

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

With a 5-5 record and playoff hopes still looming overhead , the Broncos have some things to be thankful for this season. If we were to go around the Broncos’ Thanksgiving table, here are some statements that we would hear from players about what they are thankful for:
Sam Adams – “The person that made this meal, and the folks over at KFC for taking care of me day in and day out.”

Travis Henry: “Selvin Young. I’ve been sitting the bench half of my career because of injuries, and I MAY have made some poor decisions in the past, so if he didn’t perform well, I would take more heat from fans. Also, Mike [...]

Remembering The Drive II

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

Tonights game against the Titans has the obvious storyline of Young vs. Cutler or Travis Henry vs. weed & condoms, but as the resident historian, it’s a great opportunity to remember one of the greatest playoff games that nobody remembers.
It was 1991, and the Broncos took on the Titans Houston Oilers at Mile High Stadium.  The Oilers were heavy favorites, as the streak of consecutive sellouts at Mile High was endangered because, frankly, the Broncs weren’t going to win this game.  The first half went just as scheduled, with the Oilers running up a 21-6 lead on the Broncos with [...]

Pat Kirwan Doesn’t Know The Broncos and He Should Probably Date Vince Young

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos, Gameday, Video | COMMENTS: None Yet

Pat Kirwan of NFL.com has too much confidence in Titans QB, Vince Young. You think Young is going to run for a touchdown on a Monday Night in Denver to win the game? Come on Pat! I think your nose has a little brown spot on it. What? You already sent Vince a bouquet of roses? That was nice of you. I hope they cheer him up when the Titans lose to the Broncos. Here’s the clip:

Baseball Had It’s Season: NFL Week 11 Rankings

AUTHOR: Kim Constantinesco | IN: Broncos | COMMENTS: None Yet

As the Broncos get set to take the stage on Monday night, the rest of the NFL looks to play up to the Patriots’ standards. While much of the sporting world is talking about Barry Bonds or A-Rod and the Yankees, I’m going to crank out the NFL’s week 11 rankings:
1. New England (9-0) – no arguments here.
2. Dallas Cowboys (8-1) – Romo is focusing on the present and T.O. is keeping his mouth closed. If that’s not a recipe for more wins then put me in jail and call me Lindsay Lohan.
3. Green Bay Packers (8-1) – So what if Favre’s [...]
