Erstwhile starting RB Travis Henry is rather popular these days, as a judge in Georgia tried to straighten him out concerning child support on one of his nine children.
Yes, Henry is quite the procreator. In addition to this youngster in the Peachtree State, the wounded tailback has eight other confirmed progeny, all from different moms. He’s spread his potent seed to wombs in Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee as well.
There’s not really much to say here that hasn’t originated, well, just about everywhere. Among those making sport of this mighty trail of reproduction are 100 % Injury [...]

Knockin’ Heads With The Defense
On the eve of the Broncos’ first preseason game (Monday Night Football, @ San Francisco, 6pm Mountain on ESPN) let’s take a look at the current state of the defense.
The team released a depth chart this week that revealed a few surprises. One was that John Engleberger is penciled in to start at one of the defensive end spots, and the other is that Louis Green is nominally the new strongside linebacker.
Engleberger has been one of my favorite Broncos since the day he came over from the Niners. Some might forget that he was traded for that clown [...]
There are some interesting things happening elsewhere in the division, let’s take a look:
Due to a protracted holdout by No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell, the Raiders inked Daunte Culpepper to a one-year deal. Culpepper had sought this type of short-term contract from somebody, as he hopes to show that he’s back and healthy and cash in with one more megadeal. It’s probably a good fit for him, as Oakland probably has the lousiest QB situation in the NFL and Culpepper can most likely start in silver and black for much of the year.
Arrowhead Addict accurately pointed out [...]
Hoo Boy
Warrick Holdman, the free agent linebacker who was the leading candidate to take D.J. Williams’ spot on the strongside, was carted off the field and rushed to Sky Ridge Hospital after suffering an apparent neck injury.
We’ll get further word out about Holdman’s condition when it emerges, but he had feeling in his limbs before being secured to the stretcher.
Hixon Separates Shoulder
Broncos WR Domenik Hixon suffered what the team is calling a first-degree separated shoulder in practice. Although he’s expected back soon, this further muddies a dismal picture for the Denver wideout corps.
Hixon’s injury is the first significant boo-boo from training camp, although numerous Broncos are nursing various injuries.
The Dailies: JimmyTube
The onset of training camp has brought about a flurry of news dispatches on the Denver Broncos. A sampling of the latest:
The Denver Post is taking this camp coverage thing seriously. And by seriously I mean having a goofball in a Hawaiian shirt interview random fans about nothing. They call it JimmyTube, a feature in which longtime Post “writer” Jim Armstrong bums around and looks for ways to inject his trademark “Bubba” colloquialism and signature “Dude” pronoun. Riveting, Pulitzer-level stuff.
I used to like Armstrong, I really did. At one point I think he actually worked [...]
