The Denver Broncos have won two games in a row this year thanks to second-half comebacks, because of course they have. In typical Broncos fashion, this team craves the excitement and late-game heroics, and after Weeks 2 and 3, there is no reason to believe why this cannot continue.

This team has done quite well in the month of October in the Sean Payton era, so that is rather encouraging. Over the next four games, Payton's history with the team would indicate that Denver wins three of those games.

And that could be huge, as there are some tougher opponents coming. Let's dive into our predictions for the Broncos next four games following an encouraging, but somewhat sloppy 2-1 start.

Predicting the Denver Broncos October games as Week 4 approaches

Week 4 @ San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers are 3-0 for a reason. Quarterback Brock Purdy is playing like an MVP, and the 49ers do have one of the better playmaking groups in the NFL when healthy. Both Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle are top-5 at what they do, and we could see a heavy dosage of McCaffrey and the quick passing game to neutralize the Broncos pass rush, but Purdy himself has been sacked zero times this year.

The Broncos come up short in this one and fall to 2-2.

Prediction: 49ers win 23-20

Week 5 @ Los Angeles Chargers

The Broncos head to Los Angeles to play the Chargers, an 0-3 team approaching Week 4. The Chargers interior offensive line is absolutely the worst in the league, and both sides of the ball feel and look regressed from a year ago. The team has two new coordinators for this year and also just do not have enough roster talent to withstand the major coaching changes.

The Chargers just don't do much of anything well right now, and the Broncos should match up rather well and do have what it takes to earn their first win against the Chargers in their house in the Jim Harbaugh era.

Prediction: Broncos win 28-20

Week 6 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Denver and Seattle both have a short week, as they square off on Thursday Night Football in Week 6. The Broncos did just hold the fort down at home against another juggernaut NFC West team against the Los Angeles Rams, and the Seahawks, while an excellent team, just don't have as much talent as the Rams do.

The Broncos will likely find themselves in a close game here. Seattle's passing attack is a bit top-heavy, and I am not sure the offensive line is all that. In a battle of two of the league's best defenses, Denver gets the best of the defending Super Bowl champions.

Prediction: Broncos win 20-17

Week 7 vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Broncos head to Arizona to face the Cardinals in Week 7, playing the entirety of the NFC West in the span of five weeks. This also represents when the team's schedule starts to get a bit easier as well. The Cardinals should not be discounted, as they did beat the Chargers in Week 1 and have some encouraging offensive talent, but the defense is flat-out bad, and the team just doesn't have much to speak of at the QB position.

They also have a new coaching staff and have largely been projected to be a bad team for a reason. This is a game the Broncos can and should win.

Prediction: Broncos win 30-21
