3 NFL Draft Prospects Broncos Should Target to Increase Playoff Odds

Broncos fans must feel like this past season was a nightmare they’re desperately trying to forget.

What better way to put the past behind you than to look forward to this year’s NFL Draft?

Denver traded away its first AND second-round picks this season in the Russell Wilson trade, but still has five selections to work with, starting at the No. 68 overall pick in the third round.

I have some NFL Draft prospects circled who could step in and make a big difference right away – potentially making Denver’s odds to make the playoffs much shorter than they currently are.

If you want to cash in on the pre-draft value, look no further than Caesars Sportsbook, which is offering the highest-valued promotion in sports betting.

3 NFL Draft Prospects Broncos Should Target

If you watched Denver this past season, you’re well aware this team isn’t as bad as the final score often indicated. But you then must also know there are definitely areas of concern that need to be addressed.

It’s not far-fetched for Denver to rebound and make the playoffs next season BUT they have to crush this draft. Picks No. 68 and No. 69 represent the best time to do this – or a trade up the draft – because Denver doesn’t make its third selection until No. 108 overall.

Here are three players they should target to help make that goal a reality:

Broderick Jones, Offensive Tackle (Georgia)

This is assuming that SOMEHOW Denver is able to trade up into the late first round or even the early second round, but drafting an offensive tackle is an absolute must and it’s hard to see the Broncos waiting until the third round to do so.

Denver allowed the most sacks in the NFL last season, three more than the second-worst Indianapolis Colts.

Russ can’t cook if he doesn’t have time to think and that’s a huge area of concern that I don’t think can be properly addressed in the third round.

With two third-round selections, it’s not out of the question for the Broncos to package those picks – along with a future pick – to move up.

It’s win-now for Denver and Jones, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound tackle from the National Champion Bulldogs, would be a great start, especially when you consider he didn’t allow a single sack all last season.

Mike Morris, Edge Rusher (Michigan)

The Broncos traded Bradley Chubb to the Dolphins to reacquire draft capital and to free up future cap space, and that means they now need someone to fill the void.

Morris could be a great option with one of Denver’s third-round selections, should they keep them. The 6-foot-6, 292-pound senior was a beast for the Wolverines this past season, with 23 tackles (11 for loss), 7.5 sacks, three pass breakups and a forced fumble.

Michigan has turned the table in its rivalry with Ohio State and pass rushers like Aidan Hutchinson and Morris have been a big reason why. The Broncos weren’t the worst in the NFL in sacks last season, but they were in the bottom third of the league and could stand to do much better.

Hendon Hooker, Quarterback (Tennessee)

This could be the perfect landing spot for Hooker, who led one of the most explosive offenses in the country before tearing his ACL toward the end of last year.

The Broncos wouldn’t need Hooker to really play at all this fall and they also need a viable replacement for Wilson on the roster.

Hooker has it all. Last season, he threw for over 3,000 yards with 27 touchdowns to just TWO interceptions all while adding 430 rushing yards and five rushing scores.

Say what you want about Wilson’s personality, but he is one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the NFL and a proven leader who Hooker could learn a lot from.

No matter who Denver drafts this offseason, chances are they’re going to be a better team because of it. Don’t miss out on the pre-draft value. Sign up with Caesars today!
