It’s hard to imagine who this past season could have gone worse for the Denver Broncos.
But even after a 5-12 campaign in which the Broncos fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett midseason, oddsmakers aren’t counting them out for next season.
It could be new head coach Sean Payton. It could be the front office’s commitment to winning. Whatever it is, the Broncos are expected to have a chance at competing for a playoff spot this season.
Let’s dive into Denver’s odds to win Super Bowl LVIII.
Super Bowl 58 Odds
Broncos fans still have reason to believe
Last season was ugly, but the Broncos are STILL in a much better spot than about half of the league – at least for this season.
Denver’s odds to win the Super Bowl are currently set at +3000, tied with the Dolphins, Lions and Packers. They are listed with the ninth-best odds in the AFC, meaning they’ll have to make up a little ground to make the playoffs, but it’s not completely out of the question.
Most of the offense is expected back, including injured running back Javonte Williams, who missed most of this past season.
Though Russell Wilson didn’t look great last year, he’s expected to have his full complement of weapons again this season, including Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.
There’s reason to believe the roster could improve from now to Week 1, too. It’s safe to say that Payton will want to make some changes to his new team.
Playing in a STACKED division – Chiefs and Chargers are listed ahead of them – and the toughest conference, it might be too much of a year-to-year improvement to expect a Super Bowl run, even if the odds say it’s not impossible.
