Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos just keep winning football games. Nix and the Broncos are now 30-12 since the start of the 2024 NFL Season and are in a really swell position to win the AFC West for the second year in a row.
Thanks to a 15-point fourth quarter and some clutch defensive stops, the Broncos were able to take down the Kansas City Chiefs and win their fourth home game in a row against the Chiefs. While Nix's numbers might not jump off the page, he has absolutely played the best football of 2026 over the last two weeks.
In our latest AFC quarterback power rankings, Nix is on the rise.
Denver Broncos' QB Bo Nix on the rise in updated AFC QB power rankings
16. Joe Fagnano, Baltimore Ravens
With Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley both hurt, the Baltimore Ravens had to turn to Joe Fagnano, a rookie. The third-string QB may end up having start for a little bit for the Ravens, and it's probably going to go as most of us expect.
15. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
A passer rating below 70 and double as many interceptions as touchdowns, Justin Herbert is simply playing awful, terrible football right now. He looks broken and in need of a hard reset. While he has all the talent in the world, that has not translated this year.
14. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
It's been another year to forget for Daniel Jones, who has been flat-out horrific this year. He has five touchdown passes against nine interceptions and has fallen flat on his face since signing an extension in the offseason. Jones has more 'bad' QB play in his career than good play, and it's hard to see how he remains the starter for much longer.
13. Malik Willis, Miami Dolphins
Malik Willis has six touchdown passes against five interceptions and was always going to be at a disadvantage this year given how talentless the Miami Dolphins offense is. Willis appears to be a high-end backup and doesn't really do anything that well besides having top-tier mobility.
12. Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans went toe-to-toe with Cincinnati in Week 8, which was certainly smething. Ward now has six touchdown passes against five interceptions on the season. He's really not panned out well this year, but the ceiling that Ward has could compell Tennessee to give him a third season.
11. Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns
Deshaun Watson has certainly not been terrible this year, but I'm not sure he's been that good, either. He's taking way too many sacks - 33 already, but is QB-ing a 5-3 Browns team.
10. Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Aaron Rodgers has been sacked 23 times this year and is barely at a 60 percent completion percentage. Rodgers is a shell of his former self and just isn't going to offer much of anything outside of the pocket.
9. Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
Bo Nix gets out of the double-digits here and is No. 9 in our QB power rankings. Nix now has nine touchdown passes against three interceptions. He's playing well as of late and has not thrown an interception since Week 3. He's also only been sacked 10 times and is still displaying that superpower in year three.
8. Geno Smith, New York Jets
The New York Jets have a major coaching issue, but Geno Smith is completing 69 percent of his passes and has 12 touchdown passes on the year. He has certainly played a lot better this year, but he has already been sacked 23 times and is on another bad team for a reason...
7. Kirk Cousins, Las Vegas Raiders
Already with 19 passing touchdowns on the season, Kirk Cousins is QB-ing a rather surprising 4-4 Las Vegas Raiders team. He has a 101.1 passer rating and is averaging just under 270 passing yards a game. This is a high-powered passing offense, and Cousins has largely gotten it done.
6. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is playing well this year, but the Kansas City Chiefs just aren't in a good spot on offense outside of Kenneth Walker III. The passing attack isn't all that threatening to begin with, and we have seen a lot of 'dink and dunk' with Mahomes in this offense. He's been very good this year, but nothing like how it was earlier in his career.
5. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
Drake Maye is averaging nearly 250 passing yards per game and now has a 100.4 passer rating. He's certainly cleaned up his play in recent weeks and is beginning to give that TD:INT ratio some breathing room.
4. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is having a fine year - we're still seeing the sloppy play come out at times. Allen also isn't necessarily lighting it up on the stat sheet, but Allen and Buffalo are 6-1 on the year, and Allen is still producing at a mostly-high level.
3. CJ Stroud, Houston Texans
It's really a shame that the Houston Texans defense suddenly looks like a shell of their former selves, as CJ Stroud has balled out this year. He has just one interception, a 100.7 passer rating, and is averaging over 260 yards per game, and he's doing this without a consistent run game or offensive line.
Stroud is deserving of a contract extension regardless of how the defense looks - he's played extremely well this year.
2. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
No. 2 in our power rankings, Trevor Lawrence has a 17:4 TD:INT ratio and is still playing extremely efficient football. He leads the AFC starters in passer rating thus far and is again trending toward being an MVP candidate this year. Lawrence is truly the complete package at the position, as he can also throw well on the run.
1. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow is insane, folks. Completing 73 percent of his passes and averaging 302.1 yards per game, Burrow continues to prove why he's one of the best pure passers of this generation. He leads the AFC with 20 passing touchdowns, and also has a 77 QBR and a 111.6 passer rating.
Cincinnati is now 5-2 on the season, and based on how Burrow is playing, it'd be hard not to give him the MVP this year.
