For the first time in what feels like forever, the Denver Broncos won a game by multiple scores. In a bit of a get-right game for the offense, Nix and the Broncos put 30 points on the Arizona Cardinals defense en route to a double-digit win.
Now 5-2 for the second year in a row, the Broncos have a realistic shot to go into the bye week in Week 10 with a 7-2 record, and if they're able to beat the Kansas City Chiefs at home in Week 8, they'll improve to 6-2 and be in first place in the division.
Speaking of the division, let's dive into our updated AFC West power rankings with the division wrapped up for Week 7.
Updated AFC West power rankings show what we're all thinking
4. Los Angeles Chargers (0-6)
The Los Angeles Chargers are the only team in the NFL without a win thus far, and with how things have looked for this team, I am not sure they have a clear first win in sight. Nothing has worked for the Chargers, and the poor roster-building by the front office has perhaps been put on display the most.
It doesn't help that Mike McDaniel, their offensive coordinator, could not be less of a fit. Frankly, everyone from the front office, down to the coaches, and even the quarterback have dirty hands. The Chargers went 11-6 in both 2024 and 2025 and are already at their loss total from the previous two seasons.
3. Las Vegas Raiders (3-4)
The Las Vegas Raiders are now losers of four games in a row, so we're getting back to the 'normal' in the division. The Raiders did enjoy a really slick 3-0 start, but that did appear to be a honeymoon period that has ended in brutal fashion. The Raiders do have a capable QB in Kirk Cousins, but he's a statue in the pocket, and with the overall lack of competent playmakers they have outside of Brock Bowers, it's now pretty clear that this team should not be taken seriously in 2026.
And we could be slowly approaching a period in time where Cousins takes a seat on the bench in favor of Fernando Mendoza.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (5-1)
The Kansas City Chiefs got flat-out embarrassed on Sunday Night Football by the Seattle Seahawks in what might have been one of the worst games we have seen from the Patrick Mahomes-era Chiefs. The Chiefs managed just three points, and, like the Chargers, you see the overall roster-building incompetence on full display here.
The Chiefs are getting some awesome play from Kenneth Walker III, but if you can at least limit Walker, the Chiefs just do not have the personnel on offense to beat you. It has also helped the Chiefs that their schedule up until Week 7 was on the easier side...
1. Denver Broncos (5-2)
Not only did the Denver Broncos actually beat the Seahawks, but the Broncos are and continue to be a more talented football team. The Broncos did get blown out by the Chiefs in Week 1, but as we all know, the first couple weeks of an NFL season can often be a liar.
Denver has gone 5-1 since that Week 1 blowout and have notched some seriously impressive wins. Of note, Bo Nix and the offense looked more alive in Week 7, and the defense has really stepped up these past few weeks as well.
Pound for pound, the Broncos do more things 'better' than the Chiefs, and with the way Week 7 went, it's clear that Denver is the better squad.
