The Denver Broncos have to be one of the most interesting teams in the NFL this year. The Broncos are 4-2 and have endured an extremely tough slate of games thus far, but the offense has simply looked bad outside of some 'gotta have it' moments here and there.
Most of the blame has been placed on quarterback Bo Nix, who really hasn't been good this year. If the Broncos plan on making a deep run this year, they'll need to at least get this offense into an average spot.
And when we dive into the latest AFC power rankings, it's abundantly clear that Nix and the Broncos will have some work to do.
Updated AFC rankings following Week 6 prove that the Denver Broncos need to figure something out
16. Miami Dolphins (0-5)
The Miami Dolphins might be the most talentless team in football right now. On their bye in Week 5, the Dolphins are 0-5 on the season and were honestly supposed to be this bad in 2026, as this team is clearly embracing a full-scale rebuild.
15. Los Angeles Chargers (0-6)
The Los Angeles Chargers now have the worst record in football. Literally nothing has worked for the Bolts this year, and you get the sense that major change is coming. The Chargers may not have a clear first win in sight this year, either.
14. Tennessee Titans (1-5)
Beating Indianapolis In Week 6, the Tennessee Titans rise to No. 14 in our power rankings. The Titans are still bad, but beating a division rival has to feel good, and the Titans get that first win unknown off their back, as well.
13. Indianapolis Colts (2-4)
The Indianapolis Colts have to begin blowing this operation up. Losing at home to a winless division rival is simply inexcusable. Frankly, Indy needs to begin being active at the trade deadline and consider trading some of their key players.
12. New York Jets (2-4)
The New York Jets are, if nothing else, not quite as bad as they were last year, but they still feel like a five or six win team. The Jets do have a trio of first-round picks in 2027, so there could be more change coming.
11. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
Pittsburgh barely got by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, and if there is ever such a thing as an ugly win in the NFL, the Steelers had one on Sunday. The Steelers don't do much of anything well, but this franchise has operated with an extremely high floor for years now.
10. Cleveland Browns (4-2)
Cleveland got the job done against a Baltimore team without Lamar Jackson. Now 4-2 on the season, the Browns have turned into one of the more fun stories in football. The team is clearly bought in to what the new coaching staff is doing, and there is a non-zero chance that this team sneaks into the playoffs.
9. Las Vegas Raiders (3-3)
Now losers of three in a row, the Las Vegas Raiders are, if nothing else, hanging with their opponents. They did get blown out a couple of weeks ago, but they were able to almost go blow-for-blow with Buffalo, which is not nothing. This is a legitimately frisky football team.
8. Houston Texans (2-4)
Houston is now winners of two in a row after a troubling 0-4 start. After beginning the 2025 season 0-3, they rallied to finish 12-5 and make the playoffs. This team is absolutely good enough to see the same thing happen this year.
7. Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
Not having Jackson really was the deciding factor in this one, but Baltimore is still 4-2 on the season and has good a chance as any other team in the league at winning their division, but the late-game woes still seem to be present.
6. New England Patriots (4-2)
Drake Maye is heading up, folks. The New England Patriots have begun to play like their 2025 selves, and if that remains the case throughout the rest of the season, we'll have to stop using the 'easy schedule' schtick, as they'd firmly be unquestioned juggernauts.
5. Cincinnati Bengals (3-2)
The Cincinnati Bengals were on their bye in Week 5 and did revamp the defense this offseason. As long as the defense isn't among the worst in football, they should have enough to make the playoffs, as Joe Burrow and the offense can be flat-out dominant at times.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2)
The Jacksonville Jaguars dropped a huge division game against Houston in Week 6, but divisional games are almost always closer, so while the Jaguars are still the better team, this loss is far from th end of the world, and Jacksonville is still in a good position to win the AFC South this year.
3. Denver Broncos (4-2)
The Broncos come in at No. 3 in our power rankings. Denver definitely has some quality wins on their schedule and has had to battle through a very tough slate to begin the season. As quickly as the Broncos ascend to this spot, though, they can fall, as the offense is just anemic at this point, but that can also prove just how good this team can be if they get the offense sorted out.
2. Buffalo Bills (5-1)
Buffalo is No. 2 in our AFC rankings. One of two five-win teams in the conference, the Bills took down the Raiders in Week 6, but this defense has been flat-out atrocious this year, and you really have to naturally wonder how good this team can be if they are needed to win in shootout fashion most weeks.
That can't be sustained.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (5-0)
The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Chargers in Week 6 and are the lone unbeaten team in the conference right now. With how elite Kenneth Walker III has been, the Chiefs offense doesn't really have to lift a finger half the time.
It genuinely feels like the Chiefs are back to being the Chiefs, which is a huge reality of bad news for the rest of the conference.
