The Denver Broncos, once again, needed some second half magic to ice their victory over the hearty Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. After the first half, it truly did seem like the Broncos were well on their way to an 0-2 start, which would have been their second in three seasons.
But in typical Broncos fashion, this team just found a way. Two fourth quarter touchdown drives and some outstanding play by Bo Nix helped the Broncos defeat the team that blew them out at home during the 2025 regular season.
And speaking of second half play, the same cannot be said for the Los Angeles Chargers, who lost in Week 2 to the Las Vegas Raiders, and you really can't do anything but laugh at this point.
The Denver Broncos can only laugh at the Los Angeles Chargers incompetence through two weeks
I believe it's called "Chargering," and it's something that was on full display in Week 2. Of all teams, the Raiders are 2-0 to begin the season and might be a frisky team, while the Chargers, a team that some picked to win the AFC West this year, are now 0-2, and it's not like this team has lost to two great teams - the Chargers lost to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, and the Raiders this week, who are still, likely, a bottom-10 team in the sport.
Justin Herbert went just 15/27 for 192 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, and got thoroughly outplayed by Kirk Cousins, who tossed 253 yards and three touchdowns. With the Chargers now 0-2 and a gauntlet of a schedule coming up, there is a legitimate chance that this team just enters into a losing streak.
In the coming weeks, the Chargers are set to face Buffalo, Seattle, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Houston, and Baltimore. Folks, do the Chargers have a single win during this stretch? While that may seem over the top to even suggest, if the team plays anything like they did in Weeks 1 and 2 in the following weeks, they'll become irrelevant in the AFC West race.
The Chargers have been a thorn in the side of the Broncos in the Sean Payton era, as the Jim Harbaugh-led Chargers have won three of four matchups against the Payton-led Broncos, but if the Chargers are simply entering a regression season, the Broncos may have a legitimate chance to sweep the Bolts this year and earn two massive division wins.
