The Denver Broncos host the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8. The Broncos have actually beaten the Chiefs at home in each year of the Sean Payton era, and two of those wins were in blowout fashion. The 2024 matchup did see the Chiefs resting many of their starters, though.

If the Broncos win this game, they'll take ownership of first place in the AFC West, but with a loss, the Broncos would fall 2.5 games behind the Chiefs and would already have as many losses as they did last year in the regular season.

Fortunately, the odds are in the team's favor since this one is at home, and since the Broncos are simply a better team, but based on how the Thursday injury report looks, the depth might be tested.

Denver Broncos had two new names pop up on the injury report for Thursday

Of note, both Brandon Jones and RJ Harvey were added to the report on Thursday with hamstring and knee injuries, and it is not entirely clear the exact time that these ailments happened:

All of a sudden, the Broncos injury report is quite long. With that said, all of the players who practice full on Thursday should play, so it's looking good for all of Marvin Mims Jr, Karene Reid, Malcolm Roach, and Patrick Surtain II.

It is less certain for guys like Zach Allen and Jaylen Waddle, but both players were upgraded to limited after being a DNP on Wednesday. Garett Bolles was also still limited, and Talanoa Hufanga is again trending toward not playing.

The main thing here is seeing Jones and Harvey as new additions on the report, but with there still being one day of practice and most being in a limited participation, there is plenty of time for those players to get healthy enough to play.

Hufanga's status is in a significantly worse spot because he has not practiced yet this week, and as Friday rolls around, the players with the limited designations for Thursday will be the ones to keep an eye out for.

Fortunately, Denver does have pretty exceptional depth, and we have seen the secondary depth already get tested this year, as Surtain, Moss, and Hufanga have all already missed time. Luckily, the Broncos are trending toward getting Surtain back.

No matter how you personally want to view this report, the Broncos do have a ton of notable players who practiced in a limited fashion, which truly does have their status up in the air. If any of these players are upgraded to full participants on Friday, their chances of playing are almost guaranteed.

If they remain limited, though, their status gets murky. This might all be a ton to follow, but injury reports are a pretty active thing and can change as quickly as they remain the same.
