The Denver Broncos have been one of the healthiest teams in the league since Sean Payton arrived back in 2023, but, like every other team, they've also still had to deal with injuries. Thus far, the Broncos have had their share of injuries, as notable names like Patrick Surtain II, Riley Moss, and Talanoa Hufanga have already missesd action.

At the end of the day, the team that ends up being the healthiest is typically standing in the end. On Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, in the fourth quarter, bobbled the ball on an end-around as the Broncos were trying to ice the game.

He ended up falling on what appeared to be his shoulder, and the immediate thought did make it seem like he suffered a collarbone injury. Well, news broke on Wednesday, and it really seems like the Broncos avoided a disaster here.

Denver Broncos' WR Jaylen Waddle has a chance to play Sunday after suffering chest injury

According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Klis, Waddle aggravated the chest injury he has been dealing with, but there is 'hope' he'll be able to play in Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the most important game of the year thus far:

In seven games, Waddle has amassed 26 receptions for 276 yards and one touchdown. He is on pace for the least-productive season of his career thus far, but it's been a slow start for just about everyone else on offense.

Denver's offense has issues, but Week 7's breakout did seem to give us hope that the unit can get turned around in the coming weeks. It surely has not helped that the Broncos have played an insanely tough defensive schedule thus far, and also that quarterback Bo Nix missed much of the offseason work with his ankle injury recovery.

To be honest, this offense should get a lot better as the season goes on, as the schedule does ease up a bit, and with the Broncos sitting at 5-2, there is no reason to hit the panic button. The offense will also only get going if Waddle becomes more heavily involved, and with the veteran WR clearly having a chance to play in Week 8, that is more reason that the offense can stack good performances.

Waddle isn't an injury-prone player necessarily, but he does have a rather lengthy history of minor injuries that have seen him miss a game or two here and there. Fortunately, Waddle has played in every game thus far, and while it is not a guarantee at the moment, that appears to still be the case with Week 8 approaching.
