I am not sure a single Denver Broncos fan is going to forget how the 2025 season ended and what the emotions were like when the tragic Bo Nix injury news broke. The period of time after the game ended and before the news broke was pure happiness.
The Broncos has just knocked off the Buffalo Bills in one of the more dramatic games in Denver playoff history, but it came at a cost, and if the franchise does not win a Super Bowl in the Nix era, the 'what if' of the 2025 campaign will continue to hang over their heads.
Well, it's been just under three months since Nix sustained that ankle injury, which was in the middle of January. As of now, he's at, roughly, the 10-week mark since that day. He's definitely been a good bit removed from the injury, but will he be ready for the start of the Broncos' offseason programs?
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix will be ready for the team's OTAs
Both George Paton and Sean Payton commented on the status of Nix and how he's expected to be ready for OTAs:
“He’s ahead of schedule,’’ Broncos general manager George Paton said in an interview with 9NEWS at the NFL annual meetings from a grassy courtyard at the Arizona Biltmore Resort. “He’s running, he’s jumping. Really proud of how he’s attacked rehab. He’s done a great job. He’ll be ready for OTAs.’’ - George Paton

Well, there you have it - Nix will be ready for OTAs, which is wonderful, awesome, amazing news. As Paton noted, Nix is running and jumping, and while I am not a doctor or physical therapist, this is a great update.
OTAs will likely begin sometime in late May, so Nix may have another eight-ish weeks to continue recovering, which would give him much more runway to continue this recovery process. When the injury first happened, not only was Broncos Country devastated and feeling terrible for Nix, but many also wondered if this would impact his status for 2026, which was a reasonable thing to think at the time.
With Nix set to be healthy, a revamped offensive by adding Jaylen Waddle, and the potential for some other defensive additions, the Broncos are going to be fully loaded and ready to go for one of the more important seasons in the history of the team.
Denver does appear to have what it takes, at the moment, to win the Super Bowl in 2026.
