The Denver Broncos are now in a position to be a team that veteran free agents may want to sign with to 'chase a ring.' With the 2026 NFL Draft rapidly approaching, though, we might not see much more free agency movement until after the draft.

Teams are now getting the chance to shore up any remaining roster needs, and after the draft is over, we could see many teams taking to the market again to bring in some short-term solutions. And in today's NFL, nothing is more short-term than an aging free agent. Father Time is undefeated, but it sometimes takes a while to hit certain players.

And, to be fair to some, there are a lot of free agents out there who are still rather capable at the moment despite their age. The Broncos could be fits for one or more of them as well, which makes the rest of this offseason quite interesting to say the least.

The Denver Broncos should look to bring in some aging free agents who want to chase a ring

In Bleacher Report, Gary Davenport listed eight aging free agents who are still effective, and funnily enough, four of them could fit the Broncos in some capacity:

-Cameron Jordan (37 in July)
-Von Miller (37)
-Calais Campbell (40 in September)
-Bobby Wagner (36 in June)

You could argue that the Broncos could sign multiple players from this list, as all could fit in some capacity. Cameron Jordan was drafted by Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints and has the ability to line up all over the defensive line, perhaps being able to settle into the vacant defensive end spot with John Franklin-Myers now in Tennesse.

Von Miller is a franchise legend who, in fewer than 40 percent of the defensive snaps for Washington in 2025, flirted with a 10-sack, 20-quarterback hit season, proving that he is still extremely effective in a rotational role.

Calais Campbell is from Denver and is a defensive end that hasn't missed a start in three seasons, most recently having 6.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, and 16 quarterback hits for Arizona in 2025. Campbell has had double-digit quarterback hits in every year but two in his 18-year career.

Bobby Wagner is one of the best inside linebackers in the history of the NFL and has started 217 regular-season games, finishing with 4.5 sacks and 162 total tackles for Washington in 2025. It remains to be seen if the Broncos have any degree of interest in an aging free agent on defense.

You get the feeling that the remaining offensive additions might be through the NFL Draft, but with there still being some holes on the other side of the ball, defensive coordinator Vance Joseph might have a heavy degree of interest in a reliable veteran for 2026, perhaps the most important year in team history.
