Bo Nix is heating up for the Broncos (and it's coming at a perfect time)

He's doing it again.

The Denver Broncos scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and erased an 11-point deficit in the final 15 minutes of the game. Now 6-2 on the season, the Broncos take control of the AFC West, win their fourth game in a row, and position themselves nicely to win the division for a second season in a row.

Denver's offense really broke out in Week 7 against Arizona, and again put up a good bit of points in Week 8. All in all, the Broncos offense has shown flashes of being great. While you'd love to see more consistency, the Broncos did have a 13-15 scoring split in Week 8, so I guess it wasn't as lopsided as the fourth quarter performance made it out to be.

Anyway, Bo Nix has really begun to heat up, and while his numbers still don't jump off the page, he's been heating up lately and has taken care of the football.

Nix now has nine touchdowns against just three interceptions this year. His 3:1 TD:INT ratio would stand to be the best of his career. He's actually not thrown an interception since Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams - he had one in each of the first three games of the season, and 0 in the five games since.

Over his last two games, which also happen to be the two most encouraging offensive performances of the season overall, Nix himself has a 96.6 passer rating, 444 passing yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

I do believe a lot of us have gotten hung up a bit on what we see from an 'on paper' perspective - Nix's numbers have suffered for much of the season as the offense continues to find its footing, but we're beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

While this unit is still far from perfect, the Broncos have scored 58 points over the past two weeks, scoring 28 against a very good Kansas City defense. We've also seen Nix begin to his legs a bit more, as it seems like that long touchdown run against Arizona may have given him some confidence.

There is a lot left of the season, but the third-year QB seems to be heating up for the Broncos at the right time, and it's precisely what this team needs. With the unofficial second half of the season starting in Week 9, the Broncos will need Nix to continue this efficient play against some of the weaker opponents the Broncos have, hopefully peaking when the playoffs begin.
