3. Building the defensive front

Unfortunately for the Denver Broncos, Patrick Mahomes is not going anywhere anytime soon. That reason alone, not including many others, is enough reason for the Denver Broncos to send reinforcements across the Broncos’ front.

And not with injury-ridden players, suspended players, or players who are not capable of rushing the passer. It is time for the Broncos to get serious about bulking up both sides of the trenches.

Patrick Mahomes is a killer when blitzed, he is a magician when he isn’t. Adding four all-pro type players, Mahomes would still find a way to win some individual battles. Should the Denver Broncos build a team to beat Patrick Mahomes?

YES!

It is time for this mess to end. It is time for the Denver Broncos to get capable bodies along the line of scrimmage that can get to Mahomes and all other opposing quarterbacks without having to send extra pressure.

Too many times have I watched the Denver Broncos pass rush vanish in recent years and that was even with Bradley Chubb and Von Miller at times. They are both gone now, and the Broncos are better off counting Randy Gregory not being on the field rather than being on due to his inability to actually stay on the field.

Investing with draft picks and money via free agency is something the Denver Broncos should consider. Dating back to the 2021 season, the Denver Broncos have traded away Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, and Malik Reed. Dre’Mont JOnes could be added to that list as well, all of those transactions have come within two years.

One group can only be taken from so much before the wounds and depletion start to show.

Re-build the front with a pair of veterans, one strong pass-rusher, and one solid tweener‘ (defensive lineman who can do both decently), and add a couple of bodies via the draft as well. If the Denver Broncos are serious about winning, they must avoid how they ended the season last year, with a depleted defensive front.
