Denver Broncos potential offseason change: Wide Receiver depth

Sadly, the Denver Broncos’ expectations at the wide receiver position have not been met. I understand that quarterback Russell Wilson has not been what he could be but the team’s wide receivers are at fault too.

The loss of Tim Patrick to a torn ACL before the preseason was a massive blow and it has been obvious up to this point. Would things be different with Patrick in the lineup? Absolutely. How different? Well, we will have to wait until next season to find out.

Up to this point, the Broncos have scored a grand total of seven passing touchdowns through eight games. That is second-worst only to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have six through the same number of games.

At this point, the excuse of “this is a brand new offense” does not fly. We have seen this thing go the same way every single week. Unfortunately, Wilson has dealt with some injuries this season. I definitely understand that. However, according to NBC Sports, the Broncos are in the top-10 in terms of dropped passes.

The wide receiver position needs to be addressed in the 2023 NFL Draft or free agency. What this team has right now just is not cutting it.
