Bleacher Report article sends Broncos players every which way

A recent Bleacher Report article highlighted moves that every team should make at the trade deadline, and the Broncos were a frequent appearance.  Bad teams are active at the trade deadline, and they are usually trading players away for draft capital.

That appears to be the direction the Denver Broncos are headed in.  Even if the team wins on Sunday in London, I don’t expect them to not make a move.  Guys like Melvin Gordon, Albert Okwuegbunam, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler, Dalton Risner, and Bradley Chubb could all be traded.

Bleacher Report comes up with trade ideas for Broncos players

Obviously, not every single one of them will be gone, but there is an argument for each player to be moved.  Bleacher Report recently published a piece highlighting one move that every team should make at the deadline, and several moves related to the Broncos were spelled out.

In alphabetical order, the first move was the Atlanta Falcons acquiring Bradley Chubb.  Chubb is from Georgia, and the 3-4 Falcons are right in the playoff mix in the NFC, surprisingly.  The defense simply needs more juice, and Chubb would immediately be plugged in as a starter.

The next move was by the Chicago Bears, who Bleacher Report thinks should trade for KJ Hamler.  Hamler has been an inconsistent player during his career and has battled some injuries.  It’s clear that nothing really is working for both parties, and sending him to an offense where he’d have a clear shot on the field could be a smart move.

The Bears desperately need more pass catchers for Justin Fields, so Hamler could find a role there.  After that, the Denver Broncos are acquiring Cam Akers in BR’s article.  It would be a move that makes some sense, as Javonte Williams is out for the year and it’s already been just about guaranteed that Akers won’t be a Ram soon.

Akers is in his third year and does not turn 24 until the summer.  He could be a nice piece to have just in case the Broncos struggle to rebuild the RB room with Williams out.  The last one is interesting to me.

They write that the New England Patriots acquire Jerry Jeudy.  It’s clear that the Patriots need weapons, and they have had a rough time drafting pass catchers.  Jeudy would arguably be the most talented in that room that features a solid set of pass catchers in DeVante Parker, Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, and Tyquan Thornton.

If this were to happen, I’d think the Broncos would ask for someone like Kendrick Bourne in return, who has a much lower ceiling and is older, but has proven to be a rock-solid pass catcher and could be an effective WR2 in the offense.

The Broncos aren’t likely buying anyone at the deadline, and I don’t think we’ll see more than two players traded at most.
