Betting lines and predictions for Broncos in Week 8 vs. Jaguars
The Denver Broncos are playing the Jacksonville Jaguars in week eight of the 2022 NFL season. What does Vegas think about the Broncos’ chances? Well, Denver has one more game before the bye week, and it could have massive ramifications for the future of the team.
Many have thought that the team could be sellers at the trade deadline and even fire Nathaniel Hackett if they lose to the Jaguars, who are much better than their 2-5 record indicates. If the Broncos win, that could allow the team to hold firm and try and dig themselves out of this mess.
Either way, Denver needs a win. Regardless of what happens with potential trade deadlines moves and the head coach, the Broncos are simply dying to get back into the win column. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a much better product in 2022 than they were in 2021. They are also an identical 2-5 to the Broncos.
Even crazier is that the Broncos and Jaguars have won and lost in the same exact weeks thus far. Both teams started with a loss, won two in a row, then lost four straight. And both teams’ losses were close games. Something has to give here.
What does Las Vegas think about the Broncos?
Currently, FanDuel odds indicate that the Broncos are 2.5-point underdogs on Sunday. The Jaguars are needing to cover 2.5 points to cover the spread. I would personally bet the Jaguars to cover the 2.5 points.
The over/under point total is set at 39.5. Given that the Broncos’ defense is stellar and their own offense is not, I could see this being another low-scoring affair. That’s just been the trend for them this year. If you were looking to make more money on this game, betting the Broncos to cover the spread, win outright, or betting the under would help you accomplish that.
If I were to make a bet for this game, I’d take the Jaguars to cover the spread, win the game, and hit the under with the point total.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
Predictions for week eight: Broncos vs. Jaguars
I don’t think Denver is winning this one. Doug Pederson has been able to help Trevor Lawrence develop into a quality quarterback in year two, and I think they are simply a more well-coached team. The Jaguars are much better than their 2-5 record indicates.
They rank 16th in the NFL in points scored and 10th in points allowed. They are also +18 in the point differential department. I do think the Jaguars are able to win by multiple scores on Sunday.
