Ranking offensive lines in the AFC West for 2022

1. Kansas City Chiefs, Projected lineup: LT Orlando Brown, LG Joe Thuney, C Creed Humphrey, RG Trey Smith, RT Lucas Niang

It seems as if every team in the AFC West has some question marks along their offensive line.  However, the Chiefs’ unit is the clear-cut best in the division.  Their interior is elite, with big free agent signing Joe Thuney, along with young draft picks in Creed Humphrey, who is already the best center in the league, and Trey Smith, a mountain of a man who ended up falling down some draft boards.

Orlando Brown is the fourth-best player along this line but is very good in his own right.  Patrick Mahomes will continue to have the privilege of playing behind such a strong unit.  I would say, though, that their right tackle position is very shaky, perhaps more than Denver’s or Los Angeles’.  Since Patrick Mahomes is, well, Patrick Mahomes, he’ll work through it.

Perhaps the Chiefs end up signing a right tackle free agent to help this position out.  Even if they don’t, the unit is likely to grade out near the very top of the league in most categories.  It’s the least of the team’s worries, and clearly the best offensive line in the AFC West.
