The Denver Broncos franchise has done a complete 180 in the last 18 months, and that’s due to many people, but who are the most important currently?  The end of the 2020 season was a rather dark time for the Broncos.

They struggled to a 5-11 finish during the COVID year.  Drew Lock had regressed quite a bit and the future of the team was extremely unknown.  Then, a man by the name of George Paton was hired to be the General Manager of the team and soon got to work.

He brought in a loaded 2021 draft class, fired Vic Fangio, a defensive coach who perhaps was in over his head, traded for Russell Wilson, hired Nathaniel Hackett, and brought in another draft class.

The direction of the franchise has changed a ton, and it’s now in a great direction.  The Broncos are likely going to sustain success in this new era, for a few reasons.  There are players and other individuals within the organization that is essentially going to guarantee the team stays at or near the top of the league for years to come.  Who are the five most important people in the Broncos organization?

5. Justin Simmons, S

The fifth most important person in the Broncos organization is Justin Simmons.  The seventh-year player has established himself as one of the top three safeties in the NFL.  His on-field success has helped the Broncos’ secondary remain one of the league’s best during the down years post-Manning, and Simmons hasn’t shown a single sign of slowing down.

Not only that, the impact he has as a leader, motivator, and culture-setter is heavily felt throughout the club.  Simmons is very likely seen as one of the leaders and captains of the Broncos, and this carries over in his off-field work as well.

Justin Simmons has become one of the most well-rounded players in the entire NFL, and even though he doesn’t play a premium position, he still means a ton to the team.
