Las Vegas Raiders biggest weakness in 2022: Offensive Line

Lucky for the Las Vegas Raiders, Derek Carr doesn’t hold onto the ball very long.

Carr has one of the quickest releases from snap to throw out of any quarterback in the league, a trait that has driven Denver Broncos fans nuts for years now.

He’s going to need that quick release in 2022 because the Raiders’ offensive line might be the worst individual unit in the entire AFC West.

From left to right:

  • Kolton Miller, LT
  • John Simpson, LG
  • Andre James, C
  • Denzelle Good, RG
  • Alex Leatherwood, RT

That’s about as bad as it can get for an NFL starting five.

The Raiders invested a couple of draft picks in the 2022 class on the offensive line, namely bringing in Dylan Parham in the third round as well as Thayer Munford out of Ohio State in round seven.

Those could turn out to be good picks but for the time being, this unit looks ugly.

How will this impact Derek Carr in 2022, if at all?

Will the Raiders be able to sustain a ground attack?

Could we see this unit be heavily penalized?

There are a lot of issues that can come along with having a poor offensive line, as the Denver Broncos know all too well.

The Raiders had better hope their lack of investment in the line this offseason doesn’t come back to haunt them as they compete to return to the playoffs in 2022.
