Denver Broncos getting left out of the new uniform party in 2022?

So many NFL teams are announcing exciting alternate uniforms and helmet designs for the 2022 NFL season. What about the Denver Broncos?

The more time passes, the more you can’t help but wonder if the Denver Broncos are like Squidward, looking down through his blinds at Spongebob and Patrick out having all the fun while he’s stuck inside.

All of these other NFL teams are announcing their cool uniform updates for the 2022 NFL season. Not that every team is getting a new uniform, but with the NFL allowing teams to use more than one helmet, teams are taking advantage.

Some are just bringing in a new helmet color for certain games this season…

Other teams, like the New York Giants, are apparently going to be rocking some true throwback uniforms throughout the season, also utilizing that new helmet rule.

The Denver Broncos will almost certainly be wearing their color rush uniforms again this season, and those have become one of their best uniform combinations, no question.

We’ll also undoubtedly see the blue tops with the white trousers which is technically a throwback nod at this point. The Broncos last wore that as their primary home uniform back in the 2011 season before they changed to the orange tops in 2012.

The team technically has a decent mix of uniforms and combinations with the standard home and away, the color rush, and the two “throwback” options of the blue tops with white trousers and the blue tops with the blue trousers.

But what about something fresh? What about bringing back an even older throwback?

The Broncos aren’t doing anything “new” as far as we know this season, and that’s becoming a bit of a letdown among the fan base.

The team isn’t required to be wearing any sort of new uniform on a year-to-year basis, but fans have been waiting forever for the team to rock the uniform combination and lighter shade of blue we saw throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

Even if the team doesn’t have the best memories in those uniforms, they look good and that version of retro is really “in” right now.

The Denver Broncos’ new ownership will ultimately decide whether or not the team will wear completely new uniforms at some point in the future. For now, the craziest it’s gotten is the color rush uniform, a great blend of old and new.

But the time has come for the Broncos to do something even more outside the box.

What about an all-white version of the color rush?

What about bringing back the true throwback uniforms?

I’m not talking about bringing back those ugly yellow and brown uniforms, either.

While all these other NFL teams are having all the fun, bringing back old helmets or even bringing in new helmets, the Denver Broncos are stuck in the uniform cycle.

It wouldn’t be difficult for the team to get a white version of the color rush uniform and wear it a time or two this season. The road white uniforms the Broncos currently wear are some of the best in the NFL, in my opinion, but those are the uniforms that don’t have any sort of modification on a year-to-year basis.

The team wears plenty of different uniforms at home, but on the road? It’s been status quo since 1997.

Hopefully, there’s an announcement about an alternate road uniform or just an alternate uniform in general that is yet to be made.

Unfortunately, the more time goes by, the less confident I am the Broncos will be doing something like what we’re seeing from other teams, at least in 2022.
