Denver Broncos Madden 23 ratings are being announced over the next couple of days.

The Denver Broncos have talented players at the wide receiver position. EA has given some decent Madden 23 ratings to a couple of them, but should they be rated in this highest-to-lowest order?

  • WR Courtland Sutton: 84 overall
  • WR Jerry Jeudy: 82 overall
  • WR Tim Patrick: 80 overall
  • WR KJ Hamler: 75 overall
  • TE Albert Okwuegbunam: 74 overall
  • TE Greg Dulcich: 70 overall
  • WR Kendall Hinton: 69 overall
  • WR Trey Quinn: 69 overall
  • WR Montrell Washington: 68 overall
  • WR Travis Fulgham: 68 overall
  • TE Eric Tomlinson: 67 overall
  • TE Eric Saubert: 65 overall
  • WR Seth Williams: 65 overall
  • WR Tyrie Cleveland: 62 overall

Sutton’s rating of 84 comes with an awareness rating also of 84. Awareness is the biggest overall rating booster in Madden, and that makes sense. For wide receivers and tight ends, catching is another big rating booster.

Sutton leads the team with a catch rating of 92. The next highest catch rating on the team goes to Tim Patrick with an 88, and the next goes to Albert Okwuegbunam with 86. Jerry Jeudy rounds off the players in the 80’s at catching with an 82.

Perhaps the most surprising rating is Okwuegbunam’s 74. Though he has shown some awesome things during his young career, I am just surprised that Madden 23 has actually given him a respectable rating. I guess that he impressed Chad Johnson in a comeback year from a torn ACL.

Sutton had a solid comeback year from a torn ACL but with the quarterback situation in 2021, he did not live up to standards. That will change in 2022.

Hamler’s speed rating is at a 94 overall in the 2023 video game, which is the same rating he was given the year before. That is a little bit surprising due to his injury.

I’m not putting much stock into any of these ratings as they relate to real-life—meaning just because Seth Williams and Tyrie Cleveland are the lowest-rated wide receivers on the team, that does not mean they will get cut—although it might.

I have to say that I am quite impressed with what the Denver Broncos did at the tight end position. They figure that they have a rising star in Albert Okwuegbunam, feeling comfortable trading Noah Fant away and then drafting Greg Dulcich in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The position used to be a major concern in terms of depth, but not anymore.
