Russell Wilson can become just the fifth QB in history to do this in 2022

It will be Russell Wilson’s first year as the quarterback of the Denver Broncos in 2022, but the future Hall-of-Fame passer has a chance to make a little history in the process.

Russell Wilson’s first year as quarterback of the Denver Broncos has all of the makings to be quite exciting. But he could also join a very exclusive group.

To this point, only four quarterbacks in the history of the league have been able to get a win over all 32 teams in the league. Wilson has the chance to become the fifth.

Playing for 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, Wilson has been successful enough to beat all but two teams in the league — the Los Angeles Chargers and of course, the Seahawks.

Wilson can open the 2022 season by knocking one of those teams off the list, his former home. He then will get two cracks at the Chargers and if the Broncos beat the Seahawks and win at least one of those games against the Chargers, Wilson will join exclusive company.

He can also become the second quarterback to accomplish this feat in a Broncos jersey.

To do this, a quarterback would not only need to be wildly successful, they would need to have the longevity with one team, which each of the players on this list has.

Tom Brady was the most recent quarterback to join this list after defeating the New England Patriots last season. Brady spent 20 seasons with the Patriots before moving onto the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brett Favre was the first quarterback to ever achieve this feat, getting revenge on the Green Bay Packers, who he spent 16 seasons with, by beating them as quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings in October 2009.

Drew Brees began his career with the Chargers before becoming a legendary player with the New Orleans Saints, where he would beat the Chargers to get onto this list. Brees beat the Saints early in his career when he was with the Chargers but the Chargers were not the last team Brees needed a win against to join the club.

Instead, it was the Baltimore Ravens who stood in his way but a 2018 win by the Saints over the Ravens made Brees the third man to join the group.

And then of course there is Peyton Manning, who beat all 31 teams as starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts before coming to Denver and defeating those same Colts to open the 2014 season. It’s a good thing the Broncos got that win because it was the only time Manning defeated his former squad.

dark. Next. Broncos should not be looking at moving Malik Reed

Now Wilson can join the list which has four games who either are already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame or are a slam dunk to get there. Wilson will join that exclusive group some day as well.
