1. Greg Dulcich could leapfrog Albert Okwuegbunam in Denver Broncos starting lineup

There may be a certain degree of likelihood with all of these rookie leapfrog picks, but if I had to put money on one of them actually happening, it would probably be this one.

Since he was drafted, the hype train on Greg Dulcich has been more like an unstoppable locomotive.

Dulcich is an NFL-ready tight end with strong hands, speed, and the ability to win vertically.

Although I think Albert Okwuegbunam could be in line for a big season as well, I’m almost sold at this point that Dulcich is going to see the field more.

During the Draft, head coach Nathaniel Hackett kept on talking about how Dulcich brings something to the table that the Broncos didn’t have before he was added to the roster.

That’s saying something considering Okwuegbunam’s elite combination of size and speed at the position.

I think the Broncos love Dulcich and want to get him on the field as much as possible. Reading the tea leaves and bread crumbs coming out of OTAs, it’s clear that this team is working to get him opportunities with the starting offense right away.

Dulcich is the kind of player that can take a short drag route and turn it into a 40-yard play.

He’s agile in the open field with good vision, and he knows how to turn those smaller plays into big chunk plays after the catch.

I think we’ll see plenty of both Okwuegbunam and Dulcich this season, but it’s possible we get a healthy dose of Dulcich right away and maybe even as a part of the starting lineup.
