Following the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos scooped up North Carolina State tight end Dylan Parham as an undrafted rookie.

Not to be outdone by their rival the Las Vegas Raiders, the Broncos had to go and get a Dylan Parham of their own. The Raiders used their third-round pick to select Dylan Parham, an offensive lineman out of Memphis. The Broncos snagged the less-touted version.

Name: Dylan Parham

Height: 6-foot-5

Weight: 245 pounds

School: North Carolina State

Parham joins a tight end room that was quite shallow before the draft but because of moves the team made during and right after the selection process, is now fairly crowded.

The Broncos selected UCLA’s Greg Dulcich in the third round and he seems to already be turning heads. They then added Parham and Rodney Williams as undrafted free agents before deciding to re-sign Eric Saubert.

These moves prompted the team to cut ties with Shaun Beyer, an undrafted free agent last season.

Parham is a raw prospect who looks like he hardly even played much in college if you look at his stats. He played in just 14 games for the Wolfpack, catching 12 passes for 110 yards. He did find the end zone twice last season, his only touchdowns of his college career. However, he earned his keep with the team as a blocker.

He helped to open up running lanes as well as staying in as an extra blocker on pass plays. The Broncos have Saubert, Eric Tomlinson and Andrew Beck who will also be used in this role.

Parham has an interesting story on his journey to the NFL as he actually showed up at North Carolina State after being recruited as a quarterback. He was a skinny teenager that weighed less than 200 pounds but the school saw him as a tight end.

Parham put on nearly 50 pounds to his frame to have a chance to be a tight end.

Chances of making the final 53-man roster (1-10 scale): 2

I’m setting this one low just because there is a lot in Parham’s way in terms of competition on the roster. He is also a bit too raw of a prospect.

It is not that he doesn’t have the athletic ability, because he does, but the Broncos have three veterans on the roster who are primarily blocking tight ends, so Parham should be viewed as a project who will be shooting for a spot on the practice squad.

Even fellow undrafted rookie Rodney Williams should probably be seen ahead of Parham in the current pecking order.

Next. 3 former Broncos who could be great for new teams. dark

Parham will wear No. 48 for the team this summer.
