Which cornerbacks will give Denver Broncos trouble in 2022?

3. Asante Samuel Jr, JC Jackson, Bryce Callahan, Michael Davis, Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have the best group of cornerbacks in the NFL, and it isn’t close.

I would expect the Denver Broncos’ passing attack to struggle a bit against this unit.

Asante Samuel was stellar as a rookie, JC Jackson is a ballhawk, Bryce Callahan is elite when he’s on the field, and Michael Davis might be the best CB4 in the history of football.

They’ve got it all in this unit, length, speed, ball ability, and they are strong in coverage.

Sure, if they can stay healthy remains to be seen.  They don’t exactly struggle with injuries as a unit, but they’ve all missed games in their careers.

Even if a couple are banged up, it’s still a great unit.

Expect the Chargers to use five or six defensive backs very frequently.  It’s the strongest part of their roster, and they’re paying two of them handsomely, so they’ll be used quite a bit.

What makes this even more interesting is that the Chargers’ defense as a whole last year kind of stunk, but their additions, especially along the front seven, give them a good rushing defense on paper.

So, if Denver’s passing attack is struggling, and they aren’t getting the ball moving on the ground, they could be looking at a long day against the Chargers.
