A number of former Denver Broncos players could end up having success in new NFL cities for the 2022 season. Which players landed in good spots?
After a crazy offseason in 2022, there are a lot of former Denver Broncos players spread out across the league who have brand-new situations and in some cases, perhaps better situations to thrive and succeed.
It’s really tough to see players go but in many cases, it can be for the best.
Shaquil Barrett is one example of a player that found a situation outside of Denver with more playing time where he was able to blossom and become one of the biggest star edge rushers in the league.
We may not have any situation like that with former Denver Broncos players resurfacing elsewhere around the league, but you never know.
Let’s take a look at some ex-Broncos players that could excel in new NFL cities in 2022.
Former Denver Broncos player no. 1: Phillip Lindsay, RB, Indianapolis Colts
Phillip Lindsay is resurfacing in the NFC South for the 2022 season after spending part of 2021 with the Houston Texans and another part of it with the Miami Dolphins.
After the Broncos let go of Lindsay in the 2021 offseason, Lindsay signed a rather modest deal with the Texans, and things, unfortunately, didn’t work out.
On 88 carries last season, Lindsay averaged a brutal 2.8 yards per carry with one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown.
Oddly enough, that was Lindsay’s first touchdown as a receiver since 2018, his rookie season with the Denver Broncos when he took his first NFL reception for a score against the Seattle Seahawks.
Playing as a backup to Jonathan Taylor with the Colts will be fascinating to watch. The Colts obviously already have Nyhiem Hines as well, but could there be a timeshare for Lindsay and Hines?
Will Hines spend more time as a receiver?
Hopefully there is a clear role for Lindsay to have some success with the Colts.
